Episcopa as Suffragan Methropolitan of Malankara Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian church on 2nd
October 2015
Rt. Rev. Geevarghese Mar Athanasius Episcopa, was graduated from Mar Thoma College, Tiruvalla, and
underwent Theological training from Theological College, Jabalpur.
He was ordained as ‘Kasseesa’ in 1969 and subsequently served as Vicar of many Parishes including
Mumbai, Kottayam and Madras. From 1975 to ‘76 he was at Toronto Canada for higher theological
training. On December 9, 1989 he was consecrated as Episcopa. At present, He is in charge of Ranni
Nilackel Diocese. Mar Athanasius served as Vice President of the Governing Board of Leonard Theological
College and as President of the National Missionary Society.

Message from Yesudasan Achen
Dearly Beloved members of Immanuel Mar Thoma Church, Doha.
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We entered into a new year. Look back and
recollect how God graciously led us, helped us all through the past years. In 1 Sam 7 we see an example
of the way in which God grace his people victory over their enemies.
We see that they celebrated the occasion and dedicated themselves to God. They confessed their past
sins and prayed for God’s mercy . Samuel set up a stone and named it “ Stone of Help “ [ Eben – ezey in
Hebrew ] saying the Lord has helped us all the way.
Joshua towards the end of his life , reminded the people how miraculously God liberated them from the
slavery in Egypt and how tenderly he guarded and guided them al through their wanderings. Gladly the
people dedicated themselves saying “ we will obey His commands “
How about you?? In what all ways the Lord has helped you, guarded you, guided you? In your studies ,
in other activities of your home, in difficult situations, in problems, in times of doubt or temptations…
recollect them and thank God for all His mercies.
Life is often compared to a journey, we are not travelling all alone. God assures us that He will be with us
.He will take good care of us. God wants us to love Him and obey what he tells us. We must depend upon
Him and be faithful to Him always and in everything.

Message from Rev. George John
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
I am very glad to write a message through Immanuel Doothen, as the official bulletin of the Doha
Immanuel Mar Thoma Church.
Dearly beloved in Christ, We completed 2015 within a few days and entered in to another year in our life. We celebrated the
birth of Christ under the leader ship of different organization and also had the Holy Communion
with our beloved Metropolitan Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma on 25th Dec 2015. As we, as a new family
in this Christmas season at Immanuel Mar Thoma Church, Doha we enjoyed a lot with messages
and carol singing by different area prayer groups and organization. Let us thank together for the
blessings and the mercies which we have received during the last year.
New Year is the start of a new life with forgetting about last years failures and disappoinments.
We will not enjoy another year if not for the guidance given to us by god. He is the Supreme Being
who leads our every step. The book of Proverbs says that “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and
lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths
straight.”
We wish all the success and prosperous to all the Immanuel family members in this coming new
year.
When I write this message I heard the sad demise of our diocesan episcopa Rt. Rev. Dr. Zacharias
Mar Theophilus Suffragan Metropolitan with tears and shock. I quote here from the words of Rev.
Thomas George, bishop secretary of Thirumeni. “He was a great man, spiritual father, a brother,
social worker, humble at heart, rich with ideas, gracious, soft spoken, dignified, a gentle man,
a thinker, a poet, a school teacher, a sports coach, a singer, a guitarist, a lyricist, visionary and
missionary, an architect, an engineer, a designer, an ecumenical person, an inter - faith leader,
theologian, liturgist, and a “big-boss to nobody”. Yes…. he is the man who lives in our hearts.
Let for us thank for the life and work of our Thirumeni and especially the leadership towards our
church in the last Ten years.
In the coming months we have planed lot of programmes such as First fruit, Edavaka mission
Convention, visit of Coorilose Thirumeni, Yuvajansakhyam retreat, Children service senior camp,
Symphony of memories, etc. We need your whole hearted support and co- operation for the
success of all these programmes.
On 7th Feb 2016 onwards we are celebrating the Great Lent. It is a time to re- orients our lives. To
do what Jesus says. To serve, to care, to share. This lent let us find out how we can share, how we
can serve, how we can make a difference and how we can build relationships. It is also a time to
put relationships in a new perspective. Great lent or 50 days lent is also called the “Saumo Rabo”.It
helps one to spiritually participate in the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our lord and savior
Jesus Christ.
May the lord help us to lead a sacrificial journey during this Great Lent. May god bless us all.

Greetings to you all in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
First of all Wishing you all a happy and blessed news year -2016 We have now entered into a new year,
it is time to look back , count the blessings received from our Lord and praise God for keeping us safe .
When we look back into 2015, Our beloved Diocesean Bishop . Rt. Rev. Dr. Zacharias Mar Theophilus
Suffragan Metropolitan who was leading us for the last 10 yrs , caring us, guiding us , has taken to eternity.
Let us thank for life and teachings of Thirumeni. Also we have lost many other famous personalities and
our members and ex members in 2015.
However , we have enough reasons to praise God Our Kudumba Dinam, First communion, all
programmes are completed successfully
Our Christmas carol was wonderful with the presence and blessings of Arch bishop Makarios
Mavrogiannikis Of Greek Orthodox church, Qatar. Our Christmas service held on 25th December
was blessed with the presence of our Beloved Metropolitan H.G.Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma , the
Ecumenical Clergy fellowship, the merit award to student of class 10 & 12 , who secure 75% and above
all completed successfully. We got a chance to visit the Govt authority and convey our regards and
express our gratitude to the rulers and Govt of Qatar.
We are now looking forward to the forthcoming programmes, the Harvest Festival is scheduled on 15th
January, and looking forward the arrival of Rt. Rev. Dr. Euyakim Mar Coorilos . In February we will be
entering into the great Lent ,a time to repent ,renew, re dedicate ourselves and experience salvation.
Let us pray to God and work to become a worldclass christian
