• The WNBA Playoffs presented by Verizon tip off Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. as the fifth-seeded Indiana Fever host the Phoenix
Mercury in a win-or-go-home matchup at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
• With the WNBA’s new playoff format, the teams with the league’s top eight records qualified for the postseason. Minnesota and
Los Angeles, the top two overall seeds earned a bye into a best-of-five WNBA Semifinals series (Sept. 28-Oct. 6). Teams seeded 5th
through 8th participate in first-round elimination games on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
• If Indiana gets past Phoenix, the Fever will travel to Chicago to face the fourth-seeded Sky Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. Winners of second-round games reach the WNBA Semifinals in a best-of-five series (Sept. 28-Oct. 6). Semifinal winners advance to
the WNBA Finals (Oct. 9-20).
• The Fever are making their 12th consecutive appearance in the WNBA Playoffs, extending their own WNBA record. Indiana has
won at least one playoff game in nine consecutive seasons and have reached at least the conference finals in each of the last five
seasons, also league records.

STEPHANIE WHITE
HEAD COACH

TWITTER
An iconic figure in the state’s
history of women’s basketball known
for her skill, grit, poise and knowledge
of the game, Stephanie White was
introduced as the fifth head coach of
the Indiana Fever on Sept. 23, 2014.
Taking the coaching reigns from
her longtime mentor Lin Dunn, she
succeeds Dunn, Brian Winters, Nell
Fortner and Anne Donovan as the
club’s head coach.
A local star who joined the Fever
as a player during a 1999 trade prior
to the team’s first season, White
completed four seasons with the
Fever (2000-01, 2003-04) before
embarking on her coaching and
broadcasting career. She returned as
an Indiana assistant coach in 2011 and
was elevated to the role of associate
head coach prior to the 2014 season.
One of the club’s original players
and a member of the Fever’s AllDecade Team announced in 2009, the Fever’s 2012 WNBA title had special
meaning for White who enjoyed prep, college and pro success in the state
of Indiana.
She has coached in the college and pro ranks since 2003. She retired
from playing in the WNBA following the 2004 season and her hiring in 2011
marked the first time the Fever had hired an assistant coach with pro playing
experience. She was reunited with Dunn, the former Purdue coach who
recruited White to its West Lafayette campus.
Prior to re-joining the Fever, White spent four seasons as an assistant
coach with the Chicago Sky after previous stints as a college assistant at Ball
State (2003-04), Kansas State (2004-05) and Toledo (2005-07).
White also has parlayed her playing and coaching into a prominent
broadcasting career with the Big Ten Network, ESPN and FOX Sports
Indiana. She appears regularly on BTN’s women’s basketball studio show
and provides game analysis for women’s college games on BTN and ESPN.
During the 2013-14 NBA season, she began work as a pre- and postgame
anchor with FOX Sports Indiana, covering the Indiana Pacers.
After leading Purdue to a national championship in 1999 and being drafted
by the Charlotte Sting (2nd round, No. 21 overall), White was eventually
acquired by the Fever in December 1999 to lead her hometown team into
its first season of existence. White played four seasons with the Fever where
she was a teammate of current Fever star Tamika Catchings.
A 5-10 shooting guard, she played five pro seasons between 1999-04,
capping her career with the Fever for whom she was one of the club’s
top playmakers, 3-point artists and free throw shooters. She still ranks
prominently among franchise leaders in games played, minutes, 3-pointers,
assists, steals, 3-point percentage and free throw percentage. Her 93
percent free throw shooting in 2003 remains a Fever record.
White’s legacy as a prep and college star made her one of the state’s
most popular figures even before she donned a Fever uniform. Beginning at
tiny Seeger Memorial High School, in West Central Indiana near the Illinois
border, White set early standards for basketball excellence while becoming
an Indiana icon. She averaged 36.9 points and 13.1 rebounds per game
while being named Indiana Miss Basketball and the 1995 national high
school player of the year by Gatorade and USA Today.
THE FRANCHISE:
CONSISTENCY & EXCELLENCE
Record crowds began following the small-school sensation as she led the
Patriots to a 92-7 record over four seasons and finished her prep career with
an Indiana record 2,869 points, still the second-best figure in state history.
In Indiana’s years of single-class basketball, White and Seeger won
sectional and regional titles in all four seasons that she played.
At Purdue, she averaged double-figure scoring in four straight seasons.
As a senior she averaged 20.2 points and 4.5 assists per game while earning
the 1999 Wade Trophy as the national college player of the year. The Big Ten
Player of the Year, she led Purdue to an unbeaten league mark (16-0) and
its first NCAA title. She finished her career second in school history in points
and assists.
She was inducted into the Purdue Athletics Hall of Fame on April 21, 2006.
Internationally, White competed with USA Basketball as a member of the
1997 Jones Cup Team that won a silver medal in Taipei, Taiwan. The USA lost
the gold medal game against South Korea, 76-71, with White finishing the
tournament as the second-leading scorer for the U.S., averaging 10.3 points
per game.
Born in Danville, Ill., and raised in West Lebanon, Ind., White gave birth to
her first child, Landon Fletcher White, on Sept. 27, 2011 — the morning of
Game 3 of the 2011 Eastern Conference Finals. White and partner Michelle
welcomed twin boys, Aiden and Avery, on Aug. 3, 2013.

PLAYOFFS HISTORY
Returning to the WNBA Playoffs for a 12th consecutive season in 2016, and for the 13th time in
the franchise’s 17-year history, the Indiana Fever
has established a standard of consistency and excellence in the WNBA.
The Fever usher in a new WNBA Playoffs format
with the No. 5 seed overall and a first-round matchup against Western Conference foe Phoenix. The
last time Indiana and Phoenix met in the playoffs
was an epic, 5-game Finals series in 2009.
RED WINGS, SPURS AND FEVER
The Fever’s 12 straight appearances (2005-16)
extend their own WNBA record and represent the
third-longest active playoff streak among major
American professional sports leagues (Detroit Red
Wings, 25; San Antonio Spurs, 19).
The Fever’s 12-year mark is longer than any playoff
streak in NFL or MLS history, and longer than only
the Atlanta Braves (14) and New York Yankees (13)
in MLB history.
NINE IN-A-ROW -- WNBA RECORD
Indiana has earned at least one playoff win in
nine consecutive seasons (every year since 2007).
The streak is unmatched in WNBA Playoffs history.

FEVER FAREWELLS
The foundation of the Indiana Fever franchise
was built very early in President and GM Kelly
Krauskopf’s tenure with the club, dating to its
original season. During the 2000 WNBA Expansion
Draft, she traded for Hoosier icon Stephanie White.
One year later, she drafted Tamika Catchings No. 3
in the annual amateur draft.
Together, White and Catchings have left deep impressions on the franchise - on and off the court.
Selected in 2001, Catchings has been a constant
force on the playing floor from 2002 to 2016. White
wore the Fever uniform from 2000 to 2005, then
returned in 2011 as an assistant coach. She was associate head coach in 2014 and has led the Fever
to the playoffs in each of 2015 and 2016 as head
coach.
White made just one playoff appearance as a player, as a rookie in 1999 with the Charlotte Sting. As
a coach, last year she became the first rookie head
coach in league history to reach the WNBA Finals.
Catchings’ history is well documented. In WNBA
Playoffs history, she is the league’s career leader in
points, rebounds, assists, steals and games played.
Both will depart the Fever franchise after the current playoffs season - Catchings to retirement and
White to lead the Vanderbilt Commodores.
DOUBLE-DOUBLES LEADERBOARD
Tamika Catchings is the WNBA’s all-time leader in
playoff double-doubles.
She has recorded a double-double in nearly 40 percent of her career playoff games, posting 26 in 67
career playoff appearances.
Even at 36 years-old in the 2015 playoffs, Catchings
had double-double efforts twice during the WNBA
Finals.

IN ELIMINATION GAMES
The Fever have won nine of its past 12 elimination games, including a 5-1 record in the 2015 postseason.
Overall, Indiana is 16-10 all-time in elimination
contests, including an 11-2 record at Bankers Life
Fieldhouse. The Fever forced a deciding Game 5 in
the WNBA Finals last year, knotting the series 2-2
with a 75-69 Game 4 win in Indianapolis.
The Fever set a WNBA record with a 4-0 mark in
elimination games en route to their first championship in 2012. Last year, Indiana was 5-0 before
falling in Game 5 of the Finals at Minnesota.
TAMIKA IN ELIMINATION GAMES
In Indiana’s 12 elimination games since 2012,
Catchings averages 19.4 (233) points and 8.2 (98)
rebounds per game. She has eclipsed 20 points in
seven of those 12 games and in six of Indiana’s nine
wins.
In Indiana’s nine elimination-game wins since
2012, Catchings has averaged 20.2 (182) points per
game, and in the three losses, she averages 17.0
(51).
WON 20 OF LAST 26
Since losing consecutive home games between
the 2005 and 2006 postseasons, the Fever have
lost just seven of their last 28 playoff games at
Bankers Life Fieldhouse (21-7, .750).FEVER OVER
ALMOST ROUTINE
Moving past Chicago in three games in the
Eastern Conference Semifinals in 2015, the Fever
earned their fifth consecutive trip to the East Finals
and its eighth in the past 11 years.
The Fever own the WNBA standard for conference finals appearances in a 10-year span (7) -twice (tied with Los Angeles).
For sake of comparison, the last NBA team to
reach the conference finals at least seven times
within 10 seasons was the Chicago Bulls, with eight
appearances from 1989 to 1998.
The Fever, with a trip to the semifinals round in
2016, would eclipse their own record with eight in
a 10-year span.
CATCHINGS AMONG POSTSEASON LEADERS
Tamika Catchings became the league’s top postseason scorer and rebounder during the 2014
WNBA Playoffs, and the league leader in minutes
played in 2015. Prior to last year, she already was
the league’s all-time playoffs leader in free throws
and steals.
She is the only player in league history to rank in
the Top 10 among career playoff leaders in points,
rebounds, assists, steals and blocked shots

ERLANA IN THE PLAYOFFS
Prior to 2012 with Indiana, Erlana Larkins had appeared in six playoff games with New York in 2008
– with no starts, no double-figure scoring and no
double-digit rebounds.
Fast forward to the present, in four playoff seasons (29 games) with Indiana, she totals an AVERAGE of 9.1 points (258) and 9.4 (272) rebounds.
Larkins had three double-doubles in four games
in 2013 and another in 2014. She has seven in 29
postseason games overall.
MOST IMPORTANTLY – Indiana is 19-10 in the
playoffs with Larkins in the starting lineup, entering
the lineup for the first time in Game 2 of the 2012
East Semis at Atlanta on Sept. 30, 2012. She made
five starts for the Fever in the 2015 Playoffs as Indiana posted a 6-4 record.
ABOVE THE AVERAGE
Both Tamika Catchings and Erlana Larkins rank
among the all-time leaders in career rebounding
average in WNBA Playoffs history.
Notably, since arriving in Indiana, Larkins has
averaged 9.2 boards per game (239 in 26 games)
with the Fever in past four postseasons. That figure
would rank No. 4 on the list.

her last 40free throw attempts of the regular season. Johnson led all qualified players in the WNBA
in free throw percentage, shooting 93.8 percent

in a season. White shot 93.8 percent (45-48) from
the line during the 2003 campaign.
Entering this season, Tamika Catchings held the
two longest streaks in franchise history as she
made 33 consecutive free throws during the 2010
season, and 31 straight in 2009.

MOE-JO WORKING
Battling injuries throughout the early portion of the schedule, Shenise “Moe” Johnson
found her groove on the offensive end late in
the season.
Johnson scored in double figures in 11 of
the last 15 games, including a career-high
with 23 points on 9-for-13 shooting at Connecticut, 9/13.
Shooting 93.8 percent from the foul line
this season, Johnson tied Stephanie White’s
2003 franchise record for highest free throw
percentage in a season.
COLEMAN CATCHES FIRE
Struggling to find a consistent shooting
stroke throughout the pre-Olympic break part
of the schedule, Marissa Coleman scored in
double figures in eight of the last 11 games of
the regular season.
Coleman averaged 11.4 points per game
and shot a combined 44 percent from the
field over the last 11 games after averaging
6.9 points and shooting just 29 percent from
the floor over her first 21 appearances this
season.
A first-time WNBA All-Star in 2015 and a
vital part of Indiana’s run to the 2015 WNBA
Finals, Coleman tied her Fever regular season
career with four three-point field goals twice
over the last 11 outings.
EFFICIENCY CONSISTENCY
Currently 7th in the WNBA this season in
Player Efficiency Rating, Tamika Catchings has
ranked in the top 10 in the league in PER rating all 15 seasons in her WNBA career.
Catchings is the only WNBA player to ever
finished in the top-10 of PER 15 times in her
entire career, much less in the first 15 years of

ROAD WARRIORS
The Fever tied their franchise record and posted
a winning record on the road for the third straight
season, going 9-8 record on the road this season.
CLEAN GLASS
In Indiana’s win over Seattle on June 1, the Fever
yielded only one offensive rebound while limiting
the Storm to zero second-chance points.
The one offensive rebound tied the franchise record for the fewest offensive rebounds allowed in a
game. Indiana has now allowed only one offensive
board four total times in franchise history, most recently at Minnesota on June 22, 2014.
The Fever led the WNBA while limiting opponents to 8.0 offensive rebounds per game this season.
AP POWER POLL
In the final AP Power Rankings of the 2016 season posted on Sept. 20, the Fever finished the

ENDING GAMES
Indiana’s game-ending surges in its three West
Coast games in July were remarkable. At Los Angeles on July 6, a WNBA record-tying 39-point
fourth quarter left Indiana shy of a record 21-point
comeback. At Phoenix and Seattle, the Fever won
for the first time this season, in both games, after
trailing at intermission.
MITCHELL’S MARK
Tiffany Mitchell’s eight-game double-figure
scoring streak set Indiana record for a rookie
beginning her career. In fact, Mitchell’s streak to
begin the season matches the longest in WNBA
history by any rookie drafted No. 9 or later. Dominique Canty of Detroit, the 29th pick of the 1999
draft, also began her career with an 8-game double-digit scoring streak.
By comparison, Tamika Catchings had just a
two-game double-figure scoring streak to begin her career. Catchings’ 15-game double-digit
streak later in her rookie season is the Fever standard for a rookie overall. Mitchell’s streak is second.
Mitchell’s 15 games in double figures is the
second-highest total by a Fever rookie: Catchings
(29 in 2002), Natasha Howard (11 in 2014), Nadine Malcolm (10 in 2001) and Briann January (9
in 2009).
She is bidding to become the 19th rookie in
WNBA history ever to lead her team in scoring,
and the first since Kayla McBride paced San Antonio in 2014. Since 2000, the lowest-drafted rookie
to lead her team in scoring was Candice Dupree,
who was drafted No. 6 by Chicago in 2006. The
only rookie ever to lead her WNBA team in scoring after being drafted lower than No. 9 was Sandy Brondello (No. 34) with Detroit in the league’s
second season in 1998.
