Scuba Diving & Snorkeling
There are few places in the world where you can swim through
a forest. Catalina Island is consistently recognized for its world
class diving because its giant kelp forests enable divers to do
just that. As you slowly explore the kelp forest, you might see
up to 50 different species of fish and invertebrates within the
rich, clear blue waters. Two Harbors is at the center of it all–
with the island’s best dive sites only minutes away!

Two Harbors Boaters Guide
Considered a cruiser’s
paradise, Two Harbors is
situated at the Isthmus of Catalina Island.
The crystal clear waters and unspoiled vistas
will enchant you, and the friendly locals will
do their best to help you make the most of
your stay. The wide-variety of fauna, hiking,
mountain biking, diving and snorkeling
are world-renowned.
Catalina Harbor, Two Harbors
Catalina Island’s most protected harbor is also a U.S. Coast
Guard “Year-round Safe Harbor,” one of only two so designated
natural harbors in Southern California. It has 117 moorings
and anchorage for over 200. Ballast Point, a natural sand spit,
extends across a portion of the Harbor entrance. Marina del Rey
Yacht Club has a facility at this harbor. There is a public dinghy
dock and picnic facilities on shore, and we offer free pump out
service for Cat Harbor boaters. Contact the Harbor Patrol on
VHF Channel 9. It’s a half-mile walk on flat terrain to the
village of Two Harbors from the dock.
Isthmus Cove, Two Harbors
With 257 moorings and anchorages for well over 100 vessels,
Isthmus Cove is second only to Avalon Harbor in boat activity
on the island. Ferries from the mainland dock at the pier in
Isthmus Cove. The Two Harbors Harbor Department is based
here. Shoreboat rides are available year-round, with 24
hour-a-day service in the summer and a more limited
schedule in the winter.
