We started at Hope Field in Middle Village with 30 kids on a hot July day. Today we teach over 600 kids per year starting at 6 yrs old thru college age. Many have played, excelled and received scholarships in high school and college. I am also proud to say that some have gone to the pros. We are truly NY’s #1 Baseball Camp. My objective stays the same...to teach kids to play the game correctly, while stressing the fundamentals (basics) and having fun in the process. I believe that if they have fun with the drills, they will pay attention and remember what they learn. Most importantly they will take these drills with them after camp, work on them with their parents and coaches and apply them in their games. My message is simple “Perfect Practice Makes Perfect”. This has been the basis of my camps. Why? Because if you practice correctly you will improve as you get older and the games gets faster. I have been in the game for over 35 years and can tell you that I love teaching and watching the kids improve each week of camp. I also believe that you will not get a better ratio of instructors to students than One on One Baseball (5:1). If you have been with us you know that all our instructors “truly care” that your children get maximum instruction for the time we are on the field. Each session they have a plan and objective for the day called “situation drills”. These drills include aspects of pitching, throwing, fielding, running the bases, catching and hitting. We make the kids understand that these drills will help you in game situations. Our instructors are conditioned to make sure your child is aware of the positive as well as the negative. In closing I would like to thank you for allowing me to teach your children to play the game correctly as well as respect it. The knowledge I have gained from some great players, coaches and managers who influenced my career in the major leagues is immeasurable and I look forward to sharing this with your child. “If your child is serious about baseball, I guarantee this is the camp for them”. Dom Scala addresses campers at Fridays Awards Ceremony I would like to share a few comments from some parents that have attended our camps: Steve Wende Just a brief note of thanks from overseas. I am currently in Iraq and spoke to my sons Nicholas and Matthew yesterday via Skype video. They raved about how great baseball camp was, held up their medals for me, and said how much fun the coaches were. My wife says that all this weekend, when they have been playing baseball in our backyard, all they do is talk about the "cutoff" etc. I had seen your camp last year and asked my wife to enroll them as it looked like it was so well run (and my wife now confirms this). As you know she was very hesitant as she did not want to put them in all day, but she said you helped her make it work for them to do a half day, so thanks as I really wanted them to attend. I appreciate that, please also give my thanks to the coaches, and hope to meet you next year. p.s. one of the other Mom's took photos of the closing game and ceremony on Friday and sent it via IPhone to Iraq to me which was really great. Bryant Colon I felt compelled to send you a note to thank you for the wonderful camp experience my son, Bryant Ramsey Colon (aka Manny Ramirez) had at your camp last week. Bryant was very pleased and enjoyed working with you and your coaches. Unfortunately, my work schedule did not allow me to attend any of the games last week but I was very proud of Bryant for winning the Best Offensive Player Award in his division. Andrew Luongo One on One Baseball is awesome! The instructors are very helpful. I have been to many camps and not many gave me the experience I had at One on One. The instructors give a lot of good instruction that can make a kid become a better all around ball player. They also teach respect for the game and other players. I live in South Jersey and traveled over 100 miles to go to One on One. I wish there were more camps like One on One. Camp is not only hard work but fun too. One on One makes learning fun. At the end of the day we play an actual baseball game. I have never been to a camp like this and I have and I have been to a lot of baseball camps. So when you want to go to a great baseball camp, go to One on One. Guido Gabrielle Dom, Joseph played in a Manhasset "pickup" game last night. First at bat he hit a ball into left field and ran it into a home run. He prepared to round third in the "banana curve" And didn't stop for a second. The coach asked him; "where did you learn to run like that" Joe said; "Dom Scala" Thank you! See you at the next camp.
