by Cole International USA Inc. effective November 30, 2012.

Bonnie Sciuk, owner of Brite Ideas Sales & Marketing was
honored by the Grand Island Republican Committee for 40
years of dedicated service and generosity during a surprise
party held in her honor on December 4th.
Sciuk was presented with awards for community service
by local politicians such as Erie County Legislator Kevin
Hardwick and proclamations from the Town of Grand Island,
New York State Assembly and New York State Senate were also
read in her honor.

Chamber Welcomes Healthy Living Transition as
New Members
Healthy Living Transitions is a fairly new business lead by its
president and Grand Island resident, JoAnna Cousins. Pictured here
with her husband Marc Cousins, company Vice President; and Eric
Fiebelkorn, President of the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce
at the Chamber Holiday Party as Fiebelkorn welcomed the Cousins
and their new company as the Chambers newest member.
Healthy Living Transitions is a business that offers several different
services for the aging or disabled. An Independent Living
Consultant can give suggestions on in home Companion Care,
Concierge Services, or a home modification design that is
functional and ascetically pleasing. This business can help families
that need to make adjustments to their homes for the aging parents
or for patients that may have had a life changing event and now
need a home they can continue to function in. President, JoAnna
Cousins said, "What really attracted me to this kind of business
was I saw there was a real need as more people want to age in place
and continue to stay in their homes, but I also have a passion for
interior design. I am excited to help turn a situation into a positive
situation. I can offer a design for a home modification that is
beautiful, functional and will bring an increased value to the home."
Cousins is a Certified Graduate Associate through the National
Association of Home Builders along with having a background in
Interior Design.
Healthy Living Transitions currently has 8 staff members that
can help turn the situation into a positive situation with a Home
Companion or Concierge Service that can check in on clients, take
them shopping, to appointments, do light cleaning, cooking or to
just be a companion for a few hours a day in the home.

GI Chamber is Looking for Nominations for the
‘Citizen of the Year’ Awards
Each year the Grand Island Chamber of Commerce selects those businesses and individuals whose contributions
have made Grand Island a better place to live, work and play. As volunteers in our community they have gone
the extra mile and taken the extra step above and beyond their day to day responsibilities and jobs.
Think of these people in our community that you know or do business with and take a few minutes to nominate
them. We have some really wonderful people in our town and this is our chance to say Thank You!
The Chamber is now accepting nominations for the Citizen of the Year awards. You will find a nomination
form in this edition of “Channels” and in the new 2013 Community Directory that will be delivered during the
month of January. You can also stop by the Chamber Office to pick up the nomination form. The deadline is
March 8, 2013.
