The Centre of wine from Ribeira Sacra is
a space created to combine all activities
related to the wine from this land. There is
an exhibition hall, a shop and a tapería to
have some Galician tapas. The building which
provides space for the Centre of Wine had
several functions in the course of its history:
in 1752 was donated as a hospital to the
Order of San Juan de Dios; in the second half
of the 19th century it was converted into a
casino; in the 30´s it hosted the town hall of
Monforte. Today it also hosts the Consello
Regulador de la denominación de Origen
Ribeira Sacra (the organ responsible for
guaranteeing the origin and quality of the
wine).

This is a 17th-centurypazo (typical country
house from Galicaia) in a field of 30ha.
There are several exhibition rooms in its
buildings. The first one is devoted to aspects
of the Ribeira Sacra such as the Romanesque
architecture, heritage resources, the Carnival
from the region and the artisans as cesteiros
(basketweavers) and oleiros (pottery artisans).
The second room shows traditional winegrowing from Ribeira Sacra with the materials
used in that process.
The army and prehistoric culture is shown
in the third room, based on the fort dug in
arxeriz.
Besides, there are two rooms devoted to the
river culture, where the most remarkable
aspects of the life by the rivers Miño and Sil
before the building of the dams is explained,
as well as a collection of old boats.
You can visit the fort from the 4th and 5th
centuries and the archaeological digs from
2013.
It is also possible to walk through the path
covered with oak trees and other deciduous
species.

Price: Between 5 euros per person and 15
euros per person, depending on the chosen
route.

Ferreiros what exists the possibility of performing in the lunch before the routes and
meals scheduled for the auction of the activities, at any time of the year. There is also
the possibility to stay overnight in times in
which the hostel is in operation (from March
