Mangos are in season for a very good reason so don't culture delay, have a mango today from one of our produce stalls. Hope you had a lovingly sweet Valentines Day yesterday. If you don’t have any admirers or loves we hope you gave yourself that extra bit of nurturing care, as you deserve it. NORTHBANK COMMUNITY GARDENS (NCG) is our wonderful community group this month. They’ve made a positive impact on the region by encouraging and teaching the importance of healthy food and heritage lifestyles. 2008 saw them create a community garden which now boasts over 100 fruit trees and rare vegetables. Their NFP nursery sells a large range of organic, open pollinated, heritage seedlings and fruit BROADFOOT trees. NCG initiated the Bellofoodbox venture and in partnership with Transition Bellingen and Bellingen Chamber of Commerce planted edible streetscapes in town. BCM is proud to support NCG and aligns with their philosophy of reducing energy used to grow, package, store and transport food by growing and buying local. It’s fresher, cheaper and healthier. NCG are a mission to positively contribute to the good health of our community and environment so please support them when you can.
