Among 33 finalists, the Best Non-Fiction award went to Thomas Gilcrease written by seven members of the Gilcrease Museum staff and the Best Design award went to Willard Stone, designed by Carol Haralson. American Association of Museums • The Gilcrease Journal has won eight awards in the last ten years. The last three issues, Volumes XVII.1 and XVI.1&2, all were awarded first place in the AAM design competition for scholarly journals. Western Heritage Award • The catalog for the Russell exhibition at the won the Western Heritage Award for 2010. • Entitled The Masterworks of Charles M. Russell: A Retrospective of Paintings and Sculpture, edited by former Gilcrease director Joan Carpenter Troccoli.
