Developer’s Forum
August 2015
Hello Neighbors,
I would just like to mention that the Chesdin Landing POA Board of Directors as well as the Lake Chesdin Golf Club Board have one principle
goal for our community and that is to see us succeed and thrive. Decisions made are sometimes difficult, but absolutely necessary to make this
happen. Lake Chesdin Golf Club is an integral part of Chesdin Landing and the home values that will rise or fall on its success.
I would like to take the time to explain the “Special Assessment”. This should have been executed and explained more thoroughly by the board and
the deliverance of Community Group. I take responsibility for that failure in communicating specifics as to how this came about and where the
funds will be utilized. I personally, Scott Camp do not gain income from Lake Chesdin Golf Club, nor do I serve as a board member on the Lake
Chesdin Golf Board and only want the very best for our community.
The decision to deed over common area’s and amenities in 2020 were established in 1998.
*Article IV Section 4 Deed Book 3456 Page 654
The time frame for the conveyance of these common properties was established in 1998. The 14.6 acres that our clubhouse occupies along with
parking, landscaping, irrigation, lighting, ground maintenance and upkeep of our buildings inside and out. For the most part the golf club has maintained this and has not been compensated for these expenses for the last 18 years. As I stated, Lake Chesdin Golf Club is an integral part of Chesdin Landing and our home values and way of life here in Chesdin rely on the golf entity. Our divorce from Meadowbrook may have been a blessing
as our finances have improved without their warranted superior expertise in food & beverage, hospitality and bookkeeping skills.
In turn the Board felt the need for the “Special Assessment”. The Board of Directors for Lake Chesdin Golf Club proposed a relief to all residents
that own property in Chesdin Landing that would offer homeowners compensation for the “Special Assessment” that went into effect immediately.
The Chesdin Landing Board of Directors will review the need to continue this assessment each year.
The HOA Board continues to work with our community and is responsible for making decisions to maintain our budget and commit to projects as
our neighborhood grows and needs repairs. This is a contentious responsibility do to the fact some will be happy and some will be disappointed in
decision made by our board. The Board meets every quarter and holds an annual meeting in December. These meetings have been held for years
with little to no participation from our community. The scheduling of these meetings time and dates are to accommodate board members whom
have other work and family obligations. We encourage everyone’s participation in every aspect of our community! The board for the Golf Course
and HOA Board members are all volunteers, they are all intelligent, successful, and business minded individuals. They also have a full understanding of the community and golf course challenges and want the very best for your community and theirs's. Criticizing these individuals is wrong.
We should be supporting, encouraging and thanking these members for their time and effort. We understand no one likes special assessments and
you can help by encouraging friends to join our golf club, patronize our dining facilities and please pay your association dues on time.
We apologize for any inconvenience and will continue to strive for the success of our community!! If you have any questions and would like to
speak with me please call 804-590-9900.
