“Abiding
in Christ”
“Abide in Me, and I
in you. As the branch
cannot bear fruit of
itself, unless it abides
in the vine, so neither
can you, unless you
abide in Me.”
- John 15:4
Jesus described the
phrase “abiding in
Christ” by using a
picture of branches
united to a vine.
Without a relationship
to Christ, we have
no growth and
productivity. Our
ministry is a tool
to help you stay

help you abide

“The bottom line is pray. If you’re tired, sick, emotionally
overwhelmed – pray. If you’re on cloud nine and life
seems perfect – pray. If you lack direction – pray. If you
doubt that prayer makes any difference – pray. If the
circumstances of your life are out of your control – pray.
If the circumstances of your life seem well within your
control – pray even harder. Whatever you do – pray.”
- Dr. Tony Evans, “The Alternative”

celebrate Super Bowl Sunday. We should have stadiums;

Upcoming Faith Radio Events!

April 26-28, Fri - Sun....."Weekend to Remember," Birmingham Mariott
In the Old Testament, “vine” has been
used numerous times as a symbol of
disobedient Israel. However, in John 15,
Jesus is the “vine.” In the Old Testament,
the “vine,” disobedient Israel, becomes
wild or dries up. In John 15, the “vine” is
everlasting and we must be firmly
attached to it.
Both references refer to relationship,
or the lack thereof. Jesus’ disciples are to
be branches from the Vine. From this
section of Scripture, we understand that
“fruitfulness” depends upon the branch’s
relationship with the Vine.
Two important elements to our
relationship with Jesus are centered in
communication. Two ways God speaks to
our life is through His Word, the Bible, and
through prayer. Over the next several
months there will be opportunities to
meet at a county courthouse near you to
pray. (Find out where and when at
www.faithradio.org) There will be prayer
for God to heal our land. There will be
prayer for God to bring genuine revival to
our people. We must pray that the revival
begins in us as individuals. In II
Chronicles 7:14 God says “If My people…”
If revival depended upon me, am I
ready? Faith Radio can be an aide to draw
us closer to the Vine. Through music,
teaching, praise and repentance, we may
find ourselves as a branch firmly attached
to the Vine, Jesus. Apart from Him, we
can do nothing (eternal).

Fostering Love Stories
At Faith Radio, we love to hear the stories of our
listeners. In essence, we all feed on stories that move
us and impact us – a story from a book, a movie
script, a news story, personal tales of life. We hunger for
God’s Word.
One of our faithful listeners, Bobbi Olson, recently
stopped by the Faith Radio studio to share her touching
story. Bobbi works as a social worker with the Alabama
Baptist Children's Home, and spends a great deal of
time recruiting and training prospective foster care
parents in the River Region area.
Bobbi has had an opportunity to share in the
stories of countless families and children – some tragic,
some dramatic, some filled with love. As Bobbi travels
around seeing burdensome situations with hurting
children, she can feel Faith Radio ministering to her as
she ministers to others. “I would leave a home feeling
disheartened, but
then turn on my
radio and be encouraged, knowing the
hope that comes
from God,” she
said. The teachings
on Faith Radio
allowed Bobbi to
grasp God's depth
and purpose. She
shared, “I was working with a little boy
one day who had
come into foster
care, and he was
really questioning if
anyone loved him. I explained to him how much God
loved him. As unworthy as I feel in the role I play, I see
that God placed me in this area of social services, and
all God wants me to do is share who He is and that He

helly E. Johnson is an artist that has already begun to attract attention in
Contemporary Christian music. Shelly discovered her gift of songwriting at a
young age, and is well known for her abilities to transform life's most heartbreaking occasions into powerful lyrics and melodies that move people before the
throne of God. She grew up in the Atlanta area, and began ministering to her peers
in high school through her music. Shelly says that the first time she heard God calling her to music ministry was the night her father lost his battle to cancer.
After high school, she made her way to Nashville to study music at Belmont
University. While volunteering at the Nashville Rescue Mission, Shelly was inspired
to write the acclaimed hit “Power of the Cross,” made popular by Natalie Grant. In
February 2011, Shelly signed a publishing deal with LifeWay Worship in partnership
with Maranatha! Music. This past August, she released her label debut EP, which was
helmed by Dove Award-winning producer, Phil Sillas.
With songs like “All Things Beautiful,” Shelly offers hope as she sings about how
God redeems all of the calamity and chaos in our lives into something beautiful. She
currently lives with her husband in Woodstock, Georgia, and is the worship leader at
the 15,000-member church, First Baptist Woodstock. Shelly is a gifted songwriter,
vocalist and pianist, and Faith Radio is excited to have her as our worship leader for

Gifts in Memory and in Honor of...
A memorial gift is a meaningful way to honor someone at the time of death by recognizing that person’s
Christian faith and testimony. Similarly, an honorarium is a tangible way of honoring a living person’s
testimony. We are thankful for individuals listed below who choose to honor friends and loved ones through
a gift that extends the message of Christ through Faith Radio’s ministry.

Using
Earthly
Resources
to produce
Eternal Fruit
“I know that every cent that goes to Faith
Radio is used for the Kingdom and there is
a remarkable return on the investment!”
- Martie Elgin, Faith Radio listener
Lost souls hearing the life changing message
of Jesus Christ, growing and discipling new
believers, strengthening families, being a church
to the home bound – this is just some of the fruit
that is being produced by our ministry. Just as
Jesus described in John 15, when you are
connected to the vine, you will be productive.
Any time you give financially to Faith Radio, your
earthly resources will be used to produce a
massive amount of eternal fruit!
