University designed program
The Navitas at UMass Boston
undergraduate University Pathway Program
(UPP) is composed of elements that enable
you to successfully complete your UMass
Boston undergraduate degree in the USA.
Stage II comprises for- credit and other
courses that, completed with the specified
grade point average, will be credited
towards degree requirements in your
UMass Boston degree program.
By choosing Navitas at UMass Boston and
becoming a UMass Boston student, you will
be undertaking a program that is facilitated
by UMass Boston to ensure the highest
academic quality.
University Campus
Navitas at UMass Boston is located at
the Boston campus of the University of
Massachusetts (UMass) in the exciting
cosmopolitan city of Boston. Sharing a
picturesque peninsula with the John F.
Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum,
the campus offers exquisite views of
Boston Harbor and the city of Boston.
As a Navitas at UMass Boston student,
• Orientation
A comprehensive orientation program
is offered to all new Navitas at UMass
Boston students providing valuable
information to help you settle into
your study program as quickly and
comfortably as possible. The orientation
sessions include: linking new students
with mentors; meeting all relevant
Navitas staff; selecting your subjects and
creating a timetable; getting your student
ID; purchasing textbooks; touring the
campus, library and all student facilities.
• Language Skills Support
Being able to communicate effectively
and confidently in English is key to your
success at any university. Navitas offers
comprehensive English language support
classes to improve your skills in English
grammar, critical reading and academic
writing, listening effectively to lectures,
participating in tutorials and discussions
and note-taking.
• Integrated Learning Skills Courses
In the first semester of study with
Navitas at UMass Boston students
are provided with complimentary
support modules which develop
their study skills in areas such as
time management, academic writing
skills and examination techniques.
• Student Facilities
Navitas at UMass Boston students
have access to all facilities and services
including Science and Math labs to
enhance their learning experience.
• Peer Support Education Programs
Mentors are students just like you who
have gone on to succeed in their field of
study at UMass Boston. In addition to
being an integral part of your orientation
program, these mentors also run study
support classes in specific subject areas
throughout the semester in a relaxed and
informal environment where students
can feel comfortable asking questions.
• Academic Consultations
Our academic team and other teaching
staff are available throughout the
semester for individual or group
appointments if students need help
with assignment drafts, researching
assignments, essay structuring,
assignment writing or referencing in
assignments.
• Counseling and Guidance
Adjusting to any new environment can
be a stressful experience for some
students. In addition to academic
support, Navitas provides excellent
personal support through a range of
services to ensure that you are able to
reach your goals. A free and confidential
counseling service is available to all
Navitas at UMass Boston students.
Advisors are available to meet with
you to discuss any problems or
concerns that you may have about your
academic, social and/or personal life.

The Navitas at UMass Boston University Pathway Program enables you to successfully complete your UMass Boston undergraduate
degree in the USA.
UPP Stage II is equivalent to the 1st year of a UMass Boston Bachelor’s degree program. Upon completion of UPP Stage II you can
continue with the 2nd year of your undergraduate degree.
