Examination committee’s admission decisions are final. The school will only release the names of the candidates that are qualified to enroll. The decision will be released at www.kmids.kmitl.ac.th 3 Exam Registration Procedures 1. Enter http://kmids.cloudapp.net/Home/Admision website 2. Click “Registration” tab 3. Read and agree to the terms and conditions in the “Term of Services” window - 1st step: click “Accept” - 2nd step: click “Register” 4 4. Fill in the required information in the “Personal Information” section. In the spaces where there is an asterisk (*), applicant must fill in the information. If there is no asterisk (*), applicant may leave it blank. - 1st section: Parent information - 2nd section: Contact address - 3rd section: Applicant information o Current grade level o National identification number o First and last name o Applying for which grade level and academic year Note: If parent wants to add another applicant, please click “Add Additional Applicant” tab and fill in the required information for the other applicant. th - 4 section: Recheck the information. Then click “Continue” 5 5. Payment options - 1st step: Exam registration fee is 5,500 Thai bahts per applicant. The system will be displaying number of applicants and amount on the table above. - 2nd step: Select the “Print Paying Slip” (Take slip and pay at bank counter) - 3rd step: Then, click “Continue” 6. Print PayIn slip. The system will display the parents’ names and applicants’ names. Then click “Print PayIn Slip” in order to bring the slip to the bank counter and pay according to the bank and account number stated in the document 6 A sample of a Pay-in Slip 7 Checking Exam Registration Status 1. Enter http://kmids.cloudapp.net/Home/Admission website 2. Click “Check registration status” 3. The login window will be displayed - 1st step: Fill in parent’s national identification number of passport number - 2nd step: Fill in parent’s e-mail - 3rd step: Click “Login” tab. If the login information is correct, the system will display the exam registration status window. 4. The registration status will be displayed - 1st section: First and last name, national identification number and passport number of the parent - 2nd section: Exam registration status o Complete: The application and payment is complete 8 o Pending: The application is complete, but payment has not been made. Note: If the payment has been made, please check the registration status again after 2 working days because the payment could still be processed. When the registration status is “Complete,” the system will send the examination card, admission process details to the registered e-mail On the written examination and the interview date, candidate must bring the examination card, student identification card, national identification card, or other government-issued national cards that have the candidate’s picture, official transcript and certificate of student status. 9 Qualification of Candidates 1. Grade 7 candidates must be currently enrolled in the following grade levels: * - Grade 6 (American system) - Prathom 6 (Thai system) - Year 7 (British system) - Standard 4 or Year 6 (New Zealand system) - Other education system’s grade level that is equivalent to Grade 6 of American system 2. Grade 10 candidates must be currently enrolled in the following grade levels: ** - Grade 9 (American system) - Mathayom 3 (Thai system) - Year 10 (British system) - Form 3 or Year 9 (New Zealand system) - Other education system’s grade level that is equivalent to Grade 6 of American system 3. No serious medical conditions that may affect learning 4. Proficient in written and spoken English 5. Interest in mathematics, science and technology */** If candidate is currently enrolled in a grade level that is higher than those specified above, candidate may register and take the entrance examination. However, if the candidate is qualified for enrollment, the candidate must repeat another academic year. If candidate is currently enrolled in a grade level that is lower than those specified above, candidate could not register and take the entrance examination. 10 Exam Registration Fee 1. Both Grade 7 and Grade 10 candidates must pay a 5,500 Thai bahts exam registration fee. This exam registration fee will cover the cost of administering TOEFL examination at the test venue, emoluments for writing test graders and proctors, test venue fee and other operation expenses. 2. Candidate who is not selected on the 1st round of admission will be paying a 3,000 Thai bahts registration fee for the 2nd round of admission. If the same candidate is not selected on the 2nd round of admission, the candidates must pay a full 5,500 Thai bahts registration fee for the 3rd round of admission. (Candidate who is not selected fro the 1st round of admission and does not want to apply for the 2nd round of admission, but want to apply for the 3rd round of admission will be paying the registration fee of 3,000 Thai bahts.) 11 First Round of Admission’s Process and Details 1. Candidates who have registered must go through the admission process at the test venue, which will be announced via our website. On the test date, candidates must present proper documents. The proper documents are as follow: 1. Examination card which can be printed from the website 2. The student identification card, national identification card, or other governmentissued national cards that have the candidate’s picture. Only original documents will be accepted. 3. Official transcript from the last four semesters. The transcript must be sealed, and only original document will be accepted. 4. Certificate of student status. The certificate must be sealed, and only original document will be accepted. Candidates who could not present complete and proper documents will be disqualified from taking the entrance examination. 2. Grade 7 Examination Schedule On Saturday, September 24, 2016, from 7.30 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. Written Examinations (Medium language is English) Time 7.30-8.00 8.00-8.30 8.30-10.30 10.30-11.00 11.00-11.15 11.15-12.00 Subject Check-in process Test instructions English proficiency test Break Test instructions Writing exam (one writing task) Content TOEFL Junior Writing topics will be determined by the committee On Sunday, September 25, 2016, from 8.30 a.m. to 16.30 p.m. Interview with the candidate and the parent - The interview with the candidate is aimed at testing candidate’s proficiency in spoken English and attitudes towards learning. - The parent interview is aimed at developing mutual understanding about school policies and vision as well as discussing future cooperation between the parent and the school. The interview will be held between the school executive and the parents in a separate room from the candidate interview room. This interview has no effect on the admission process. 12 3. Grade 10 Examination Schedule On Saturday, September 24, 2016, from 7.30 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. Written Examinations (Medium language is English) Time 7.30-8.00 8.00-8.30 8.30-10.30 10.30-11.00 11.00-11.15 11.15-12.00 Subject Check-in process Test instructions English proficiency test Break Test instructions Writing exam (one writing task) 12.00-13.30 13.30-14.00 14.00-16.00 Lunch break Test instructions Mathematics (1 hour) General science (30 minutes) Aptitude test (30 minutes) Content TOEFL iTP Writing topics will be determined by the committee - Mathematics and general science contents covered those taught prior to high school - Aptitude test measures student’s abilities of numerical reasoning, verbal reasoning, perceptual reasoning On Sunday September 25, 2016, from 8.30 a.m.to 4.30 p.m. Interview with the candidate and the parent - The candidate interview is aimed at testing candidate’s proficiency in spoken English and attitudes towards learning. - The parent interview is aimed at developing mutual understanding about school policies and vision as well as discussing future cooperation between the parent and the school. The interview will be held between the school executives and the parents in a separate room from the candidate interview room. This interview has no effect on the admission process. 4. All candidates must arrive at the test venue at 7.30 a.m. in order to go through the check-in process before entering the examination rooms. All candidates must enter the examination rooms at 8.00 a.m. If the candidate arrives later than specified, the candidate will not be admitted into the examination room, and the registration fee will not be refunded in any case. 5. Candidates must bring the following items on the written test date: 2B pencils for writing and filling in the answers, erasers and pencil sharpeners. Only pencils will be permitted for writing and filling in the answers. 13 First Round of Admission’s Decision Release 1. The school will release the names of the candidates that are qualified to enroll on September 30, 2016 via the www.kmids.kmitl.ac.th website. The school reserves the right not to release the student rankings and the examination results. Examination committee’s admission decisions are final. The school will only release the names of the candidates that are qualified to enroll 2. Candidates who are not selected in the first round of admission may register for the second and third round of admission. For the second round of admission, the candidates from the first round will pay 3,000 Thai baths for the registration fee. 14 King Mongkut’s International Demonstration School’s Tuition and Fees 1. The school tuition and fees are paid annually. The school board of committee will hold a meeting to revise the school tuition and fees triennially. This revision will be dependent on the economic conditions at that time. 15 First Round of Enrollment and School Tuition and Fees Payment 1. Qualified candidates for King Mongkut’s International Demonstration School along with the parents must be present on the enrollment date on October 3-7, 2016. 2. Documents that must be presented are as follow: Student’s required documents - A photocopy of either national identification card or passport - A photocopy of birth certificate - A photocopy of household registration - Three recently taken pictures Parent’s required documents - A photocopy of passport or work permit (for international parents) - A photocopy of national identification card - A photocopy of household registration 3. Parents may pay the tuition and fees on the enrollment date, which is on October 3-7, 2016. The payment can be made in full or in part of 200,000 bahts (initial enrollment fees and security deposit) 4. The payment of 200,000 bahts can be made until October 21, 2016. The payment of 460,000 bahts must be made within February 2016. Late payment will result in withdrawal of the student’s name from the list. 5. The payment of 200,000 bahts will not be refunded if the candidate chooses not to study at King Mongkut’s International Demonstration School. 16 Candidates who cannot be physically present on the designated time and venue 1. Grade 7 candidates that cannot be physically present on the designated time and venue must abide to the following guidelines: 1) Present the TOEFL Junior, TOEFL iTP, TOEFL iBT, or IELTS results to the selection committee before September 24, 2016. 2) The selection committee will appoint a date for an interview of the students and the parents before September 24, 2016. 2. Grade 10 candidates that cannot be physically present on the designated time and venue must abide to the following guidelines: 1) Present the TOEFL iTP, TOEFL iBT, or IELTS results to the selection committee before September 24, 2016. 2) In the case where candidate is abroad, please contact the school to appoint an interview and a written examination date and time. The written examination will include mathematics, general science, aptitude test and writing test. The candidate must go through the admission process before September 24, 2016. 3) In the case where candidate is in Thailand, the candidate must take the entrance examinations at KMIDS. Please contact the school to appoint an interview and a written examination date and time. The written examination will include mathematics, general science, aptitude test and writing test.
