Intense. Champagne · Lively persistent bubbles with clean, soft creamy fruit. D Macallan Gold £3.00 40% Speyside Orange peel and a sweetness that softens but doesn’t eliminate the zest. Vanilla followed by dark chocolate more assertive, yet not overly so - with a lingering floral and light oak notes. B J W Black Label £3.00 40% Scotland Winter spice and treacle, white pepper and a little citrus. Rich and full. Wood smoke, dry spice, hints of barley and cereal with creamy toffee and a distinct herbal note. The finish is quite fruity and long with a note of sultanas and mixed peels. B Champagne · A rich full-bodied Champagne with flowery, malty notes and a long, long finish. Speyside Discovery Beach£3.35 £4.00 £5.50 £15.50 White Zinfandel, USA · Delicate ripe watermelon, strawberry and a hint of cranberry with a gentle sweetness and a crisp, balanced finish. Off dry. Ideal with light appetizers or on its own. Over half of Scotland’s malt whisky distilleries can be found within this one region. Undoubtedly the heart of single malt whisky distilling in Scotland. It’s classic flavours of honey, vanilla and fresh fruits combine to create whiskies that are both sophisticated and elegant. With age they evolve to deliver dried and sweet flavours. Highlands One of the most scenic regions in Scotland. Geographically the largest of the whisky producing regions. It covers some major areas and a variety of warm, rounded single malt whiskies. The West Coast with its maritime influence on malts such as Oban; the Central Highlands, including the heather and honey from one of Scotland’s highest distilleries, Dalwhinnie. Ports Dows Fine Ruby Full, fresh and fruity. Dows LBV A fruity aroma leads to flavours of currant, raspberry and red plum, with some citric accents. Dows Crusted Port The prolonged bottle-ageing gives this Port a superb style and character with the distinctive Dow’s dry finish. 50ml £2.95 £3.95 £4.95 Lowlands The terrain of the Lowlands is characterised by rolling felids which are ideally suited yo growing grain for whisky. Tend to be lighter in both colour and body than those of the Highlands. With little or no peat used in the drying of the malt, the whiskies distilled here are generally fresh and light. Fragrant and floralwith cereal flavourings. Islands Sitting amongst the Inner Hebridean Scottish Isles, are the malt whisky producing islands of Islay and Skye. The rugged island landscapes generally produce single malt whiskies with strong peaty aromas. The Islands malts are unmistakeably powerful, bursting with flavour, from the recognised smokiness apparent in all offerings. Gin Malts Hendricks Regions £3.00 41.4% UK The flavour and style of your Malt varies from region to region. Use this quick guide to make sense of it all. Slightly sweet and silky smooth, with a burst of juniper and citrus set against fresh green flavours. This is followed by cumin, cracked black pepper and salty liquorice back notes. Bombay Sapphire £3.00 40% England One of the best known and most delicately perfumed gins in the world, Bombay Sapphire makes an excellent Martini, and is great as a base for a Gin and Tonic. Chase Dry £3.00 40% England Speyside Islands Highlands The aroma is fittingly juniper forward with warm spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. The finish retains that ever present spiciness but with a refreshing touch of citrus zest and a hint of apple. Tanqueray No.10 £3.00 47.3% UK Silky and rounded. The Juniper is integrated with freshly squeezed lemon, orange and zesty pink grapefruit while white pepper and coriander spice add depth. Lowlands Malt Tasting Guide A Delicate and light with a heathery character suitable as an aperitif. B Soft and charming with a fruity, agreeable flavour. C Balanced and appealing with a hint of spice. D Medium-bodied with a touch of sweetness and a round finish. E Rich and round with a pronounced and assertive character. F An after-dinner whisky with a strong and distinctive taste. G A challenging flavour, often described as peaty or smoky. hunters cheshire£3.00 4.3% UK A premium gin based on a 300 year old recipe that makes for a sublime gin with subtle citrus overtines and a spicy fruit edge. Vodka Xellent Vodka £3.00 40% Switzerland Xellent is a Swiss vodka made from “bread-quality” rye grown at altitudes of up to 800 metres. They use pure glacier water to dilute their tripledistilled spirit down to 40% abv. Chase Vodka £3.00 40% England Aromas of vanilla and butter mix well in the nose as the flavours of potato, butter and slight almond/vanilla surround your taste-buds. A smooth feel with a mellow aftertaste and great longevity. Slight black cracked pepper finish. Rum Liqueurs Captain Morgan £3.00 spiced rum 35% Caribbean The nose is sweet and spicy with pepper, vanilla cream, toffee, honey and nutmeg. The palate is of good body with notes of molasses and spice, buttery biscuits and pepper. The finish is medium with spice and sweetness. Red Leg spiced rum £3.00 37.5% Caribbean Red Leg is a superb spiced rum made with Caribbean spirit which was aged in old oak whilst being infused with Jamaican vanilla and ginger. Just superb and very good on a crisp Winter’s evening! Glayva leith £2.75 35% Scotland A very popular Scotch whisky liqueur, Glayva is flavoured with honey, almonds, tangerines and spices. The name derives from the Gaelic for “very good”. The liqueur is of such merit that it won the International Wine and Spirit Competition 5 times, making it the best liqueur in the world... Drambuie £2.75 40% Scotland A very famous whisky liqueur made with Scotch whisky, heather and herbs and spices. Produced in West Lothian, Scotland, Drambuie offers flavours such as anise, nutmeg and saffron. Baileys £2.75 17% Ireland Matusalem Platino £3.00 40% Santiago de Cuba A triple distilled white rum, aged using the solera method in the Dominican Republic. Matusalem Platino is crisp, clean and tangy, and works beautifully in cocktails. Matusalem Gran Reserva £3.00 The cream liqueur that needs little introduction! Baileys is made with cream, Irish whiskey and cocoa, and it’s very, very more-ish. This is the world’s most popular liqueur. Gozio Amaretto £2.75 24% Italy Made by the Distillerie Franciacorta using 100% natural ingredients - four types of fruit essence, including peach and apricot, alongside high quality bitter almonds give it the classic nutty aromas and a sweet palate with a luxurious texture. 15 Year Old 40% Santiago de Cuba This was first produced in Santiago de Cuba over 130 years ago. It is aged using the Solera process, so on average the rums contained herein are 15 years old. Rum Sixty Six Cointreau £2.75 40% France A ‘triple-sec’ liqueur made from Oranges with an absolutely delicious flavour. An essential ingredient in the Margarita cocktail, but very good on its own or over ice. £2.25 40% Barbados Rum Sixty Six Family Reserve was originally just that, a rum reserved for the family! Luckily for us the Seale family, five generations of whom have produced rum at the Foursquare distillery, chose to share this marvellous drop with the rest of us! Grand marnier £2.75 40% France A superb orange liqueur with cognac at its heart, flavoured with the essence of wild oranges. Delicious.
