Information paper
.
This paper that gives a description of the
frequent submarine cable failures along the
corridor between Traffic Separation Scheme
(TSS) and the boundary of Johor Port Limit
near South Johor due to ships’ anchors.
Thus , proposed a way forward for the
establishment on non anchorage area.
The reasons

to protect submarine cables in the
area from being damaged due to
vessels indiscriminate anchoring activities

to prevent vessels from obstructing port
approaches and traffic flow
TTEG – (Why its involvement ?)
The Tripartite Technical Experts Group (TTEG)
meeting is a forum which the 3 littoral states will
meet on a need and informal basis to improve the
safety of navigation in the Straits of Malacca and
Singapore.
(To uphold the traditional spirit of goodwill and
mutual understanding between the 3 littoral states).
