Beauty on a grand Scale.
To say Kerr Lake is big is an understatement. Its over
850 miles of shoreline stretched across Vance County and
the North Carolina/Virginia state line. Making it one
of the largest lakes in the Southeast. It’s also one of the
most beautiful. From wooded shores to secluded coves to
tranquil picnic areas.
There Must be a Catch.
There are more fish in Kerr Lake than you can shake a
lure at. Our waters are teaming with largemouth and
striped bass, catfish, crappies and more. In fact, the
fishing is so impressive, Kerr Lake continuously
plays host to numerous state and national fishing
tournaments. So bait a hook. Drop a line. And let
the fun begin.

Do you like to play in the water?
Kerr Lake has long been known as a haven for
boaters and skiers.
Sailboats and wind surfers cruise across endless
expanses of water. While boaters and skiers glide
across coves of glass-like water.
There are two marinas and numerous boat ramps
for easy access to the lake. What’s more, the marinas
offer fishing equipment, fuel, repairs and more.
Also, there are several public swimming areas for
you and your family to get your feet wet.

Few Camps Have These Sights.
The great outdoors are even greater at Kerr Lake.
Campers can choose from seven state parks and over
700 campsites.
Set up camp on a secluded, pristine beach or beneath
majestic, towering pines. Then sit back and watch the
stars and the moon dance across the sky.
We’ve made roughing it a lot smoother. Each campsite
has a picnic table, fire pit and tent pad. Modern rest
rooms as well as hot showers are easily accessible.
And electric and water hookups are available for
recreational vehicles.
We also offer numerous picnic areas nestled along the
waterfront. And there are large community buildings
to accommodate group activities.

Our Events Are Quite the Event.
You’re invited to join us at one of the many
Kerr Lake events.
Watch a dazzling array of bright fireworks light
up the sky and entertainment on Independence Day
weekend. Then in October, you can see the “Show,
Shine, Shag & Dine” an antique/classic car show and
nostalgia drag cars displayed in Historic Downtown
Henderson. No one should miss the East Coast Drag
Times Hall of Fame. Drag race icons gather for an
induction ceremony honoring those who participated
in the sport during the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s. The
Governor’s Cup Invitational Sailing Regatta is held
annually at Henderson Point. Also, there are plenty
of events you can enjoy every day. Like nature walks,
bird watching, and of course, golf. An 18 hole golf
course is open year-round at nearby Kerr Lake
Country Club. Where visitors can enjoy a round of
golf for reasonable green fees.
Come join us for our July Fireworks display, live entertainment and good food at Satterwhite Point, Kerr
Lake. The event is free, you pay only for your food.
