Eleven different models meet the needs of most biological research laboratories for shaking under a precisely controlled temperature environment are available in four basic housing configurations. STEADYSHAKE™ 757 AND 757L BENCHTOP The SteadyShake™ 757 and 757L are economical and compact benchtop incubator shakers. The 757 occupies only 18"W x 19"D of space, and the 757L is slightly larger (20.5"W x 25.5"D) for increased flask capacity. The 757 can accommodate four 2-liter Erlenmeyer or two 2.8-liter Fernbach flasks, and the 757L five and four of these, respectively. The lid has a large viewing window and a microprocessor temperature controller maintains precise temperature control from 3°C above ambient to 70°C. A quiet fan ensures air and temperature uniformity throughout the chamber. The brushless, maintenance-free drive motor generates speeds from 40 to 400 RPM (60 Hz frequency) which is displayed on a digital readout. A triple-eccentric drive with counter-balancing weights provides smooth and quiet shaking, and eliminates the inconvenience of making balancing adjustments as the load increases. The timer switch affords a choice of flipping between a continuous run and a timed run up to 99 hours and 59 minutes. An independent over-temperature thermostat, conveniently located on the control panel, prevents over-heating. MODEL 727 AND 737 -BENCHTOP/UNDER BENCH TYPE The 727 (height, 30.3"), 737 (height, 33.5"), and 747 (height 32.6") can fit on or under most workbenches. All these models can be stacked to save valuable laboratory space. The 727 is compact and occupies only 20"W x 27"D of space. With a height of 30.3", it can fit on or under a workbench. You can also stack two 727 units. The chamber holds a 15"W x 15"D platform and accommodates flasks up to 4 liters. Using the shelf (one is included) and the shaking platform, you can incubate Petri dishes and shake flasks at the same time. You can adjust the shelf height and use more than one shelf in the chamber. MODELS 737/737R AND 747/747R BENCH TYPE AND STACKABLE The 737/737R Shakers have a footprint of 33"W x 24"D. This versatile, sturdy flat -top can serve as a benchtop or you can stack two of the 737s, or a 737 and a 737R on top of each other to save space. With a height of 34", the 737 can fit under many benchtops, while the taller refrigerated 737R (at 41") cannot. The 20.5"W x 18.0"D platform is large enough to accommodate nine 1-liter, six 2-liter, twenty-five 250-mL, or two 6-liter flasks. The 737 and 737R use the same shelf system as the 727. The 737R is equipped with a frost-free refrigeration system for working at or below ambient temperature. The chamber has a built-in outlet used for powering small equipment such as a cell bottle roller or a rocker. The 747/747R design is similar to that of the corresponding 737/737R, but offers more capacity. They can accommodate just as many or more flasks of a given size than the chest type 767/767R.They also offer advantages over chest type shakers such as a shelf, a smaller footprint, and the ability to stack two units. The 787/787R are affordably priced models with similar performance as the 737/737R and 747/747R. These are excellent alternatives when there is a budget constraint. MODELS 767/767R AND 777/777R CHEST TYPE The 767/767R and 777/777R are chest type incubator shakers that are mounted on casters. They feature a front glass window that enables the user to look into the chamber when away from the shaker. The 767/767R accommodates a 30"W x 18"D platform while the 777/777R, with a 38"W x 24"D platform, offers the most capacity among all chest type incubator shakers in the marketplace. For example, they can accommodate twenty-four 1-L, fifteen 2-L, or six 6-L flasks. The largest model, 818, is a large-capacity heavy-duty shaker with a 38" x 24" platform. Both the mid-size 828 and the smallest 838 offer a choice of two platform sizes. The SK-838 is a compact unit, yet is large enough carry a significant load. The shakers feature microprocessor control and digital RPM and timer readouts. The microprocessor regulates the speed to within ±1 RPM of set point. The acceleration circuitry provides for a smooth ramp-up of speed to minimize splashing. The drive system features a triple-eccentric drive that is dynamically balanced with counter weights This feature eliminates the need to make adjustments as the load increases, and together with a low-profile design, ensures a smooth, stable and quiet operation. A fan cools the drive motor to ensure a long life. A timer can be set to 99 hours and 59 minutes or to 9999 minutes in increments of one minute. If the timer is not needed, it can be easily disabled and the shaker set to run continuously. In case of power failure, the timer will count from where it last stopped after it resumes running. MODELS 929, 939, AND 939XL GYROMAX™ 929 is an orbital shaker with a 38-liter bath. Its 19.0"W x 12.5"D platform is larger than any in the marketplace and can accommodate fifteen 250-mL flasks. The platform assembly includes baffle for efficient water mixing. GYROMAX™ 939 and 939XL are reciprocating bath shakers. The shaking speed and shaking stroke are both adjustable. Model 939 has a 39-liter bath with a 15.7"W x 11.8"D platform. Model 939XL is larger, and features a 54-liter bath with a 24.4"W x 11.8"D platform for greater throughput. It incorporates a microprocessor temperature controller that together with a large and quiet circulating fan, assure uniform and precise temperature control. The large 12.5" x 14.8" double-paned glass window enables one to clearly and easily observe the inside of the entire stainless steel chamber. The rotisserie can accommodate eight or sixteen 40-mm tubes, depending on their length. It also can accommodate 50-mL, 15-mL, 1.5-mL and 2.0-mL tubes using appropriate accessory clips. For tri-directional rotation, one can easily offset the two tube holders of the rotisserie assembly by up to 20 degrees to generate a rotary action that moves liquid from one end of the tube to the other. The resulting greater rigorous washing action allows the use of less probe solution and effects greater hybridization efficiency. The HS-111 increases the versatility of a hybridization oven by incorporating a platform for shaking Erlenmeyer flasks of size up to 500 mL. By removing the rotisserie from the chamber - and this can be done in seconds - the platform can accommodate a 6-liter flask. The platform can also be used for slowly shaking a tray used in wash procedures, and is more convenient than removing the rotisserie and replacing it with a rocker attachment. Current methods manually encase the entire tube in a heat shrink tubing using a heat gun. The CryoProof 313 is an innovative and patented tube sealer that automatically heat shrinks a short plastic tubing to seal only the cap of a cryogenic tube, and assures a leak-proof seal in seconds. The seal reduces the potential loss of valuable the samples during cryogenic storage arising from very cool air or liquid nitrogen seeping into the tube, or the release of hazardous samples from the tube. The CryoProof sealing process is microprocessor controlled, and involves simply placing the tube into a holder, putting a heat shrink tubing over the cap, and pressing a button. A beam of hot air shrink wraps the tubing around the cap as the rotating tube to form a seamless and uniform seal. The temperature of the hot air from the CryoProof is controlled precisely and the beam is focused only on the rotating cap. The result is a more consistent and reliable seal compared to manual sealing using a heat gun and crimping the hot ends of the plastic tubing. By sealing the cap and not the entire tube, you still can place the tubes in their regular racks for easy storage and identification after sealing. They can also be used to hold flasks up to 1-liter without clamps. The racks consists of a 2-tier grid of stainless steel springs. The distance between the two grids is adjustable so as to accommodate tubes and flasks of different heights. The spring racks are fastened onto the platform by four screws.
