health.
Alzheimer’s affects us at home and at work.
The toll of the disease is not just financial. Alzheimer’s truly is a family disease that affects people both at
home and at work. Nearly 60 percent of Alzheimer’s and dementia caregivers rate emotional stress of caregiving as high or very high, more than one-third report symptoms of depression. This stress can negatively affect
an individual’s health, employment and financial security. And while half of all Americans know someone with
the disease, there’s a stigma involved that prevents people from openly discussing it and finding the help they
need.

The Alzheimer’s Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (Tax ID# 74-2198685)
Join the cause.
As our population rapidly ages, Alzheimer’s disease threatens to affect more lives
than ever before. Investing in the cause today will help those impacted by Alzheimer’s
disease, both now and in the future. There are many simple and fun ways for companies
to engage, educate and motivate their employees to join the cause.
Alzheimer’s Workplace Alliance (AWA)
AWA aims to raise awareness of the disease and the importance of early detection
while providing help to those who are balancing work and caregiving responsibilities. As
an AWA Corporate Champion, you join nearly 2,000 other companies as a leader in the
fight against Alzheimer’s. You will gain access to a turnkey system of support for your
employees, customers and other stakeholders who are currently facing the disease.
You’ll also be empowered to spread the word about this global epidemic. To learn more,
visit alz.org/awa.
Community Health Charities (CHC)
Offer employees CHC as a workplace giving option. CHC allows employees to support
chronic health conditions and organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association. For
additional information, visit healthcharities.org.
Matching Gifts
It takes both time and money to make a difference in the community. Provide a
corporate match to multiply employees’ contributions or volunteer efforts.
Benefit Events
There are many options for on-site events to raise funds and awareness for the
Association. For example, go Casual for a Cause and encourage employees to dress
down or wear jeans in exchange for a small donation to the Alzheimer’s Association.
To order your free kit, complete with Casual for a Cause stickers,
visit alz.org/casualforacause.
Volunteer
Employees interested in volunteering for the Alzheimer’s Association can sign up for our
volunteer e-newsletter to stay up to date on our upcoming opportunities. Contact our
Volunteer Manager, Sabrina Strawn at [email protected].
Walk to End Alzheimer’s
