Rotorvent Range
The Rotorvent range is widely regarded
as the highest quality range of revolving
chimney cowls available in the UK.
The original Rotorvent was introduced
in 1997, and since that time the range
has expanded to incorporate the many
technical breakthroughs there have
been in both design and manufacture.
The Rotorvent offering now comprises the
new lower cost, lighter weight Rotorvent
Ultralite 2, and the tried and tested market
leading Rotorvent Turbolite.
Performance
All Rotorvent products have been
designed with over 80 years experience
of the aerodynamics of chimney cowls.
The original Rotorvent was developed
with one prime objective:- to be the most
efficient and powerful product on the
market. This purpose has never been
forgotten. In fact, we are so confident
of the Rotorvent range that all products
within it are offered with the well known
Colt Cowl unconditional money
back guarantee.

All Rotorvent products continue to
be made using the unique fin fixing
system introduced over a decade
ago. This system ensures that the
blades of the fin stay where they
should. External welding or riveting
of the fins has proven in the past to
have failed, and so all Rotorvents
use centrifugal forces to their advantage.
As the cowl accelerates, the tabs are
forced inside the collar, putting no
pressure whatsoever on the weld and
indeed strengthening the structure.

This relatively new revolving cowl is
lighter, more aerodynamic and more
efficient than the original Rotorvent
and now comes with an additional
strap fixing kit included.
The same high specifications that made the
original Rotorvent such a popular product
are included in this product as standard.
Fins are made from stainless steel, and the
same fin fixing method which has been
tried and tested for many years is still utilised.
The main benefits of the Rotorvent Turbolite
can be seen on the base of the product.
The base is made from pressure die cast
aluminium affording a strong and durable
finish. The base is 30% lighter than the
original Rotorvent whilst maintaining its
strength. The rounder, thinner and more
aerodynamically designed legs help
achieve a greater flow of gases through
a larger area making the performance
altogether superior. Tests indicate that the
Turbolite provides even better performance
than the original Rotorvent.
Above all these benefits the Turbolite comes
complete with 2 fixing methods. The time
honoured hook bolt is still the preferred
method of fixing Rotorvents, but included
with the Turbolite is a strap fixing kit. Hook
Bolts can be tightened in the same way
but there is now the option of the strap
fixing kit as well for extra security in areas
of the country with very high wind speeds.
The legs simply attach underneath the
wingnut, drop down the outside of the
chimney pot or flue where the jubilee
clip is then fastened.

appears in the Flue Catalogue as well,
and links the two ranges literally! Suitable
for use on the Holetherm twin wall flue
system it comes in sizes 125 and 150mm
terminating the flue system and allowing

Hanger base
This great adapter can be used when you already
have a High Top* or Colt Top 2* that you wish to
connect straight onto a chimney liner.
The twin wall design of the Hanger Base adapter allows
flexible flue liner to be pushed up between the walls and
then secured in place using the special Colt Cowls pressure
wing nut system. The benefit of this system to the installer
is that there are little or no tools required!
Available for connecting to 125 and 150mm flue liner,
the Hanger base connects to the base of High Tops*
or Colt Top 2’s* using nylon insert lock nuts
*It is advised you use stainless steel versions available on pages 4 and 11

DURA-FLUE Chimney Liner – Solid Fuel
Stainless Steel 316
DURA-FLUE from Colt Cowls is a new twin wall flexible flue
liner for use within existing chimneys. It will provide a
clear passage for smoke and flue gases from solid fuel
and wood burning appliances.
Easily installed using the standard accessories it is now available
in a range of sizes and in two different internal wall stainless steel
types 316 and 904. 904 type flue is used for particularly aggressive
smoke and fumes produced by certain fuel types. Available in a
range of diameters the system comes with the following benefits:
• Strong and durable (see image of a fully grown man standing
on it without it caving in!)
• Special patented manufacturing technique means the
stainless steel never comes under any stress or ‘forced’ pressure
when being formed. This leads to a flatter interior which means
there is less build up of acidic by products therefore a longer life.
• Tested to higher burning temperatures than most competing
brands. Tested to a constant burning temperature of 600ºC
( most competing brands is 400ºC ), and a maximum burning
temperature of 1,000ºC (most competing brands is 600ºC )
• Will not unravel inside
• HETAS listed

Holetherm is a high quality all fuel chimney
flue system manufactured in stainless
steel (316 inner and 304 outer wall) to
the highest quality standards. Insulation
between the walls is provided by a high
temperature resistant fibre mat.
Quality
The products are manufactured in an
ISO 9001 certified factory and the system
is CE marked and certified for use in all
fuel systems when installed according
to the fixing recommendations supplied
with each item. Continuous laser welding
of all the key seams ensures an exceptionally
high quality finish and reliability in
construction and use.
