members of the public to better understand and thus be able to fully utilise the
wide range of services offered by Pos Malaysia’s extensive network.
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information

Pos Malaysia as the national postal service company,
offers our customers tailor made mail services to cater
for all kind of customers and their needs, no matter as
individuals or organizations. Letters, documents, or
parcel are promised to reach their destinations.
LETTERS
The letter service is Pos Malaysia’s core business. It is a
popular choice of physical communication. Letters could
contain items such as bills, statement, promotional
leaflets and private messages. Letters are posted using
envelopes and postal charges are imposed in the forms

Pos Ekspres is a faster, more affordable and convenient to sent urgent letters or documents and it is guaranteed to
reach the recipients within the the service standard. Pos Ekspres items could reach the destinations within one day for
major towns and up to two or three days for other zones.

The service is only for domestic destinations and the maximum weight allowed for this service is 1kg. Customers may
also check on the status of their Pos Ekspres item through the online tracking service by logging on www.pos.com.my.
However the receipt is not issued as the proof of delivery.

Pos Ekspres item may only be posted at the yellow colour special posting box or to be handed to the Post Office
counter. For bulk purchase of Pos Ekspres envelope/packet in the same size and price, for every 100 pieces, Pos
Malaysia will be giving 5-10% free emvelope from the quatity purchased.
Pos Ekspres items could not be insured or registered as Posdaftar item or parcel. It is delivered to the recipients through
the premise’s mail box without any proof of delivery.

POSDAFTAR
PosDaftar service well recommended for the posting of documents considered valuable or important. It offers the
customer an option of mailing and security as it is fully handled by computer system upon acceptance at the Post
Office and traced until its safe destinations.
For domestic posting, this label enables tracking of the item until its delivery to the addressee.
For foreign
destinations, tracking is only up to the International Exchange Office at the Mail & Courier Centre, KLIA Sepang. The
computerized operation enables customers to check on their PosDaftar status through internet address at
www.pos.com.my. This service provides compensation in the event of loss to the item, subjected to the terms and
conditions of the services and compensation procedure.
Standard and Non-Standard Letter may be registered by using the normal envelope or the special PosDaftar
envelope sold at the post office. If customers choose to use normal envelope, to register the mail, the PosDaftar
tracking label must be purchased. Customers will need to fill the label with required details and stick the label to the
front side of the envelope, nest to the recipient’s address. For domestic destinations, the label is known as Track- on
1 PosDaftar label and for international, Track-On 2 PosDaftar Label.
PosDaftar is a two-way service, where undelivered item for various reasons will be retoured to the sender with the
sender address provided at the envelope. If the recipient is not available at home or the premise during the delivery,
a PosDaftar Card of Notification will be left in the mail box. The recipients may collect the PosDaftar item at the
respective Post Office in 15 calendar days.
PosDaftar also offers value added services i.e. Insurance and Acknowledgment Receipt.
Sender needs to tick the INSURED box on the PosDaftar label and fill in the insured value. Pay the insurance fee in
the form of postage stamps. Insurance fee is RM1.50 for every RM100.00 insured value or part thereof. Affix the
stamps at the top right hand corner of the envelope. For domestic delivery, minimum insured value is RM100.00 and
maximum limit is RM3000.00. For overseas postal, limitation and types of items that can be insured depend on the
availability of the service and the procedures imposed by the country of destination.
Advice of Receipt enables customers to receive an acknowledgement upon the receipt of their items by the intended
addressee. Customers may get the AR card from the counter and fill up the required details. AR card will be charged
in the form of stamps. For AR service within Malaysia, the charge is RM0.40, RM0.60 for Singapore and Brunei,
and RM1.00 for other countries.

For the insured PosDaftar service, a fee is RM1.50 for every RM100.00 insured value or part thereof is imposed.

Pos Malaysia offers the Private Letter Box service to be rented by business owners, organization and even individual.
All mails for the customers that utilizing this service will be sent to the Private Letter Box at any Post Office selected by
the customers. Customers may collect their mailsduirng or even after opening hours of the Post Office.
The yearly rental from January to December is at RM50.00. However, if customers’ application is submitted within
July to December, the rental is at RM25.00, and for the next calendar year, customer will have to pay full amount to
continue the service. Customers will also have to pay the Key Deposit of RM30.00, which will be returned to them
once the customers wish to discontinue using the service and return the key to Pos Malaysia Berhad.

What is PosLaju EMS?
• EMS is a global courier agreement which ensures that documents or parcels delivered through this service
enjoy the most competitive prices for international destinations delivery.
• Poslaju joined EMS network in 1986 with delivery to only 5 destinations. Today Poslaju has a total of 92
delivery destinations across the globe.

It is prohibited to send by post:

Explosives, highly inflammable items, dirty,
dangerous, items that can cause damage or cause
contamination or items which can cause injury and
items which are sharp and not properly protected.
2.
Printed material, drawings, photographs,
lithographs, carvings, books, cards, or other items
that are pornographic in nature.
3.
Items whose cover or envelope contain words,
markings or graphics which are indecent,
pornographic, traitorous, threatening or slanderous.
4.
Living animals except spiders, leeches, silk worms
and insects and destructive insects for the purpose
of controlling other insects and exchanges
between accredited foundations are not allowed
to be sent through the Insured Mail service.

Regulations. Authorization from the relevant
regulatory bodies is mandatory. These must be
mailed through registered mail and must be

12. Items which contain writings or other markings or
embossment on stamps except with the prior
approval of the Post Master. This rule does not
prohibit the use of embossment on stamps are not

1. What are the main reasons for Pos Malaysia to
reclassify mails according Standard and NonStandard categories?
Standard and Non-Standard mail categories were
set up to increase the convenience in sorting and
managing mails. This is because, currently mails are
processed through the OCR (Optical Character
Recogniton) machine that allows mails to be
processed in a more efficient way and
consequently enable mails to be delivered faster as
compared to manual sorting of mails.
1. Recently I received a Calling Card marked with
‘C’ from PosLaju. Since I am not able to pick up
the item, is it possible for me to request for
PosLaju to redirect the delivery to my office
address instead?
Since the item is categorised as ‘C’, that is credit
card, PosLaju cannot redirect the mail to your office
or to other addresses without a written instruction
from the bank or the credit card company. For that
matter, you need to inform the bank first before
doing any delivery to the new address.
2. I am currently doing my business online.
Therefore, I need to deliver the items that has
been requested by my customers via post. Which
postal service will guarantee the safety of the
items that I have posted?
To ensure the security of the items that are posted,
we provide Insured Mail service. Each items can be
insured up to a maximum value of RM 3,000.00.
Items that are sent through this service will be given
the priority in handling and security as well as
coverage should there be any damage or loss of the
item.
2. Does PosLaju provide pick up service to their
customers?
PosLaju provides pick up service to our customers as
an added value to our services in general. For
companies that has a contract with PosLaju, pick up
service will be provided automatically and free of
charge. Besides that, on deman pick up service is
also provided for customers that does not have any
contract with PosLaju. Pick up from premises is provided with payment by cash and additional charge
of RM 2.00 for each 30kg.
3. My company would like to use Franking service to
deliver multiple types of mails to our customers.
How do we organize the postage rates according
to the different mail category?
Franking machines can only be set by contacting the
post office where the customer obtained the
Franking licence. This is because Pos Malaysia uses
a remote control that is the ‘Franking Electronic
Remote Reset’ to set the machine according to the
mail category.
3. A workshop in Kuching, Sarawak would like to
purchase spare parts (front mirror) from my
company in Shah Alam. I would like to use
PosLaju service since the amount requested are
only 10-15 pieces per week. What should I do?
PosLaju accepts all types of items with no limit in the
weight (except for prohibited items) for domestic
delivery. In this case, you need to bring the item to
PosLaju Centre for further action. Since the item is
fragile, fragile sticker needs to be attached to the
item. The item can be delivered in loose form or
wrapped.

post office counters. Does the post office accept
payment for outstanding bills?
The post office will only accept current bills.
Outstanding bills needs to be settled at the
respective agencies.
2. The company where I’m currently working has
received Postal Order and Money Order. My boss
has asked me to cash it at the post office. Is it
possible for me to do so?
If the Postal Order or Money Order is under the
company’s name, you can cash it in by bringing
along the company’s official stamp and official letter
that allows you to be the representative of the
company that has been entrusted to cash in the
Postal Order or Money Order.

300 300, when will I receive the feedback and
how do I check the status of the complaint?
For your kind attention, all complaints will be
recorded to the system and will be forwarded to the
State Manager involved. When placing the complaint, please ensure that you note down the reference number that will be given by the Customer
Service Agent before ending the conversation. With
this reference number, it will enable you to check on
the status of your complaint.
3. Does the post office accept payment via credit
card?
Yes but only for purchase of philatelic items as well
as new purchase or renewal of motor insurance
coverage for major insurance companies of which
Pos Malaysia is the corporate agent.
