CHOICE SETUP INFORMATION Please note: This manual describes the transmitter CCPM settings to be used in conjunction with the JR NEX6-550 and TAGS MINI, as well as initial setup information for the TAGS MINI. Other helicopter settings or adjustments are not described in this manual. In this manual we describe settings specifically for the JR XG8. If you are using a different make or model of radio, please refer to your radio instruction manual in combination with this manual. Do not turn on the helicopter until these radio settings are completed. Even then, ensure the motor is unplugged from the ESC when completing the radio and TAGS MINI setup. JR-CCPM plays a critical role in coordinating the simultaneous activating of multiple servos to control the swashplate. Activation of just a single servo would not lead to control of the swashplate - the three swashplate servos must be controlled in a coordinated fashion. The setup of these servos differs from that for other control functions which control just one servo (for example, the Rudder). The JR TAGS MINI flybarless gyro unit then acts to further stabilize the helicopter. The initial settings given here must be confirmed on the bench, and then fine tuned after test flying the helicopter. Prior to commencing this process, confirm all the trim levers and trim knobs on the transmitter are in their neutral (zero) positions. Also shift all switches to position ' 0 ' (switches moved away from the operator). ※ Some steps in the setup will require the ESC plugged into the flight battery. For your own safety, move the motor/pinion away from the main gear to prevent the main rotor blades turning. 1. You only need to adjust the servo neutrals. C B ※ The figure on the right shows an overhead view of the swashplate on the NEX E6 550. Servo position A is called Elevator (ELEV), position B is called Aileron (AILE), position C is called Pitch (PIT.). A Start with all the control lever L/R only temporarily tightened so they are free to move. ※ Loosen these socket head bolts. ① Either disconnect the motor wires or move the pinion away from the main gear before making any adjustments. Turn the transmitter on first, then turn on the receiver (helicopter). ② Confirm the transmitter sticks and trims are in the neutral position. If your transmitter has pitch trim levers, set these to neutral as well. ③ Press and hold (approx 2 seconds) the S (set) button until the LEDs light in a circular pattern. Release the S (set) button, and the "GAIN" LED will remain lit. If themini S (set) button is pressed again by mistake, GAIN mode has been Mech *tags view activated. In this case, simply turn the power off and again to re-start this set Select up process. ④ Enter the [SWASH MIX] screen on your radio and set the [PIT.] mix to 0% to fix 3 swash servos at neutral. * NOTE * Mount the gyro as shown. If you mount it in a different directions, you need to go through the calibration mode. FRONT P.6 Press and hold ⑤ Insert the alignment pins through the control lever L/R and the main frame. ⑥ With the radio system turned on and set as below, level the control levers L/R as shown in the following figure and tighten the temporarily tightened bolts firmly, then remove the alignment pins. ⑦ The Swashplate should be horizontal if the Linkage rod lengths are as specified. If the Swashplate is not horizontal, adjust the Linkage rod length. Linkage rod to level the Swashplate ※ There is a mark on the shaft indicating the 。 。 position for +12 and -12 . Use these marks as a guide when adjusting the radio setup. ※ Do not move the servos when the front and rear alignment pins are installed, as the servos may be damaged. Horizontal Insert position of the alignment pin Insert position of the alignment pin Horizontal 。 0 。 ⑧ Adjust the Rotor pitch angle to 0 by adjusting the Linkage rod length. Linkage rod to adjust the Rotor pitch Note that the Swash mix has been set to 0% so there will be no movement of the swash by moving the pitch stick on transmitter. Put your pitch gauge here for zeroing. * Zero the pitch gauge on the main frame or tail boom as shown in the figure. Do not move the helicopter after the gauge is zeroed. Now you can accurately measure main blade pitch. * Always measure the blade pitch with the pitch gauge in the same orientation as when it was zeroed. Referring to the figure, if the pitch gauge is zeroed with the numerical display facing to the left side of the helicopter, you can only measure the blade pitch with the numerical display in this same orientation. Once the gauge is zeroed as above, you cannot use the gauge with the display facing forward, backward, or to the right side of the helicopter. P.7 ⑨ Rudder adjustment Confirm the tail control rod is positioned at 90 degrees. If it is not, adjust the length of the tail control rod and the servo horn angle. View from the Right side 90° View from below 90° ⑩ Turn off power to the receiver (helicopter). ⑪ Display [SWASH MIX] on your radio and turn the [PIT.] number to -50%. ⑫ Operation confirmation Power up the receiver and confirm the gyro initialization. Tilt the helicopter to see if each servo moves in the correct direction. If the gyro response is incorrect, refer to the TAGS MINI manual and confirm your settings. Initialization When you power up the receiver, the swashplate will move slowly up and down then rudder servo moves fast. This is how it is initialized. ⑬ Confirm stick operation. This completes gyro setup. Turn off the receiver (helicopter). ⑭ Refer to the radio data sheet and input each or the numbers.
