The Chicago Bach Ensemble at St. Jerome Church Tomorrow The Chicago Bach Ensemble opens Cycle 2 of its Bach Cantata Project with a performance at St. Jerome Church, 2823 S. Princeton Ave. The performance will be held on Thursday, June 28th at 8pm. On the program are four cantatas of Johann Sebastian Bach. Vocal text and translations will be displayed on a screen during the concert. A special treat this cycle will be the guest appearance by baritone Levi Hernandez. Mr. Hernandez, who has appeared at the Metropolitan Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Houston Grand Opera and the San Francisco Opera and is featured at Grant Park later this summer, will be singing the solo bass cantata BWV 56. The Chicago Bach Ensemble, a group of roughly twenty musicians consisting of an orchestra, a vocal ensemble, organist and a conductor, was formed with the idea of presenting the sacred music of J.S. Bach in the space it was originally intended for - a church - and to the people it was originally intended for - the community of that church. The composer faced many hardships during his life but always remained true to his desire for the ultimate light. His cantatas carry the expression of this desire. Please come, listen and be elevated. Armour Graduation Congratulations to Armour School's graduating class Saludictorian, Marybel Del Real and Valedictorian, Alexandria Sanchez. Dijon mustard 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. chili powder 1/4 tsp. salt Place pork tenderloins in a large resealable plastic bag or shallow glass container. Drain and discard marinade. Grill pork, covered, over indirect medium heat for 8-9 min. on each side or until meat juices run clear and a meat thermometer reads 160°-170°. In a saucepan, warm the reserved sauce; serve with the pork. Serves 6. Permission granted: Taste of Home Magazine Here’s how to read your bill. Visit cookcountytreasurer.com or cookcountypropertyinfo.com and: • Click “View Taxing Districts Financial Statements” • Enter your 14-digit Property Index Number (PIN) • Click the icon beside each agency name to display its financial information That information includes budget and debt figures for your municipality, school district, police and fire districts, library district and other units of government, along with the rate of salary increases and the levy (tax) for each taxing agency – with a percentage figure of levy growth over 10 years. The data available through cookcountytreasurer.com or cookcountypropertyinfo.com contains the following information for 526 taxing agencies across Cook County: • Local government budgeted revenues • Local government outstanding debt and pension debt • Local government 10-year-levy (taxing) history • Percentage of levy (taxing) change over 10 years • Rate of return on investments • Rate of salary increases We give you this information online and on your bill because you have a right to see the numbers that make up what you pay. Our latest calculations show the governments of Cook County owe at least $140 billion for pensions and other costs, money which will come out of our payments and our future. A note: 24 agencies have not fully reported their data, as required by the Debt Disclosure Ordinance which was passed by the Cook County Board of Commissioners. We are working with these agencies to comply with the DDO before they are compelled to do so. Meanwhile, read your bill when you receive it.
