2015 Higher School Certificate results report
2015 HIGHER SCHOOL CERTIFICATE FROM THE HEADMASTER Congratulations to the Class of 2015 and their teachers for their outstanding HSC results. We are delighted for the boys and their families. As measured by Sydney Morning Herald’s Top 100 Schools Report, this year Knox Grammar School is ranked at number 37 on the list (up from 41st in 2014 and 46th in 2013). The boys of 2015 have achieved a new Knox record of 409 Band 6 (90+) results, up from 397 in 2014. As a non-selective boys’ school, we are extremely pleased with the rise in the ATAR ranks. Behind each result is a personal story of commitment and dedication. As a school community, we are extremely proud of each boy’s achievement. In 2015 the middle boy at Knox achieved an ATAR of approximately 85.5. This year, 10 boys achieved an ATAR of 99 or above, and more than 90 boys attained an ATAR of 90 or above. The year group of 2015 made a significant contribution to school life. Led by an outstanding group of prefects, all boys in the Class of 2015 led by example in all aspects of school life - academics, sport, performance, social justice and leadership. We wish all boys every success in the future and once again thank them and their families for the wonderful contribution that has been made to Knox Grammar School. A special acknowledgement to our Dean of Academic Excellence and Innovation, Mrs Karen Yager, Head of Senior Secondary Academy, Mr Phil Harmer, Director of Studies Years 11 and 12, Mr Andrew Weeding, Team Leader and Assistant, Mr Rod Dewar and Mrs Beth Goddard, the Heads of Academic Departments and the Year 12 teaching staff. Congratulations boys, staff and parents. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Yours sincerely John Weeks, Headmaster Image top: Detail from ‘The Road Less Travelled’ by Oscar James, selected for ARTEXPRESS KNOX HIGHLIGHTS The Sydney Morning Herald’s Top 100 Schools Report shows Knox at number 37 on the list (up from 41st in 2014 and 46th in 2013). 2015 Band 6 (90+ in a subject) - 409 2014 Band 6 (90+ in a subject) - 397 2013 Band 6 (90+ in a subject) - 330 2012 Band 6 (90+ in a subject) - 341 2011 Band 6 (90+ in a subject) - 381 ALL ROUNDERS HONOUR LIST Eighteen boys were placed on the Board of Studies’ All Rounders Honour List for achieving 90 or higher in their best ten units.
