Jewellers rate Signature as India’s most
important annual jewellery fair after IIJS
As per a survey conducted by Ipsos, Signature is an exceptional revenue generating and networking platform for the
exhibitors, attracting the right set of visitors and providing good business leads. Over 90% are repeat exhibitors at
the forthcoming show.
Although there’s nothing to compare with IIJS, Signature is now established as the foremost jewellery sourcing
show. While IIJS showcases all aspects of this vibrant industry, the more
compact Signature is a niche, exclusive event for senior jewellers which
gives them the opportunity to discover
the latest trends, meet with the leading
manufacturers and plan their collections
and inventories.

Essential to Attend Say Jewellery Association Leaders
Signature presents Indian craftsmanship and a variety of designs of
the highest standards. There is a combination of modern and antique
jewellery which is not available anywhere else. It creates the best
opportunity for business in a short time span.
I am of the opinion that demand for jewellery will grow in the next
six months.
We are definitely encouraging our members to attend Signature because this is
the best platform at which Indian manufacturers and traders display their skills and
innovative jewellery to the world.
Jaysukh Adesara, President, Rajkot Gem & Jewellers Association
I encourage members of the Association to visit Signature because there is much
to explore about our industry at the show and they can apply the same in our local
markets.
Since it is held at the beginning of the year, the retailers look
forward to filling their inventory with fresh, new designs which they
can get at Signature. I feel that the upcoming six months will be steady
as far as domestic demand is concerned.
Vijay Bhola, President, Jewellers Association, Shri-Ganganagar, Rajasthan
We will be bringing a strong delegation of jewellery retailers from
Uttarakhand to attend Signature 2013. Since our economy is looking
up and disposable incomes are growing, I see great potential in the
next six months. The show is well timed because the beginning of
the year is a lean period for retailers -- they can place orders with the
manufacturers which can be delivered in the next financial year for
the wedding season which commences in April. We will be looking mostly for gold
jewellery & studded jewellery.
Bipin Berry, President, Uttarakhand and Dehradun Jewellery Association
Design Concept
The magical touch of the sorcerer’s stone… It changes everything into an opportunity
Age old traditions, an established signature, immersed in the glory of cultures and flaunted
by the magnificence of gemstones in a new light, a phantasmagoria of jewellery has
emerged in the form of Signature 2013.
The theme signifies a journey of legacy, elegance, novelty and perfection; bringing
glorious opportunities for the aspiring and the accomplished, to shine in history.
A multi-dimensional panorama of light radiates from the facets, reflecting the shimmering rays of the new sun. The
brilliance fills the eyes with the aura of an enigmatic era and its romance with jewels. A quiet resemblance of glory lights
up the soul, with the kaleidoscopic play of lights.
95% of visitors want to visit Signature again!
(Survey conducted by Ipsos Business Consulting, one of India's leading research agency)

Eager to visit trend-setting show
I always look forward to the jewellery exhibitions
in Mumbai as they keep us up to date with the new
trends. Further, it’s always good to see our suppliers
regularly. As always, we intend to place large orders
to cater to our nationwide shops in UK. I expect to see
a lot of new manufacturers and suppliers showcasing
unique jewellery at competitive prices, which makes
it worthwhile for jewellers from abroad to buy direct from the source.
Having a chain in the UK of 32 jewellery shops, we need to keep all
types of jewellery in stock, and therefore these exhibitions help us out
immensely with the new trends.
My management team will be going to Signature to seek
opportunities to expand our growing business even further. India has
really taken over in design and manufacturing but we feel that Indian
manufacturers are still not as competitive compared to the Far East.
I think the timing of the show is good because February in the UK
is a slightly quiet period which enables us to be a little more relaxed
and place orders and speak to suppliers comfortably. Placing orders
in February will also ensure orders are received just before the peak
season.
Manoj Kumar, Gold Factory, London
Signature 2013 is the 6th edition of the show and
it has grown to the point where it should have
significance in the retailers’ calendar. For Indian
retailers who don’t go to Hong Kong, it is the first
show of the year where they can feel the trends.
For foreign retailers it’s the opportunity to preview
collections before Hong Kong and Basel shows.
As Signature is very close to these shows, as well as only two months
before Basel, it is in my opinion an excellent venue for the preview of
collections.
India today has proven itself as a growing centre of modern
technology and design. It still has a lot of competition though.
However, as all participants of Signature 2013 will also be showing their
collections elsewhere retailers may postpone their purchasing decisions
to the last moment. Nonetheless, I think it’s an excellent venue to
identify new suppliers.
It remains to be seen whether the timing of Signature is good as it is
in the proximity of other shows. In my opinion, the February dates are
certainly better than January.
Alex Popov, Moscow Diamond Bourse, Russia
We are attending Signature to observe the latest
developments regarding gemstones and jewellery. We
intend to meet companies operating in the field of
finished goods, as well as precious and semi-precious
stones.
This fair is an important opportunity for us to boost
our business. In this sense, India will grow even more.
We would like to find new business partners, visit and meet them onsite, and make the most of new opportunities in this market.
Signature really serves its purpose of offering business opportunities.
I am of the opinion that it will improve and grow further in the future.
The dates of the fair are suitable for us in terms of preparation for the
new season.
Yılmaz Uça, President, İzmir Chamber of Jewellers, Alnur Jewellery , Turkey
I like to visit exhibitions in Mumbai. This time I need
traditional designer jewellery for my customers in the
Gulf. Signature always has some good deals and new
designs for us. I am looking forward to meeting new
suppliers who will give a wider choice. In my opinion,
holding Signature in February is better than at the
start of the new year.

“Signature is important indicator of how
diamond market will fare”
Udi Sheintal, CEO, Israel Diamond Institute - Group of Companies
Signature is a good opportunity for Israeli
diamond companies to expand their business
and to make additional contacts in the
local Indian market.
Signature is more like a ‘boutique’
show. More Israeli diamond companies
are able to exhibit here and have a
greater opportunity to stand out than
at IIJS. On the other hand, IIJS is a much
larger platform with many more exhibitors.
It is geared to the entire gem and jewellery
industry in India and internationally. It’s very
difficult to get exhibition space there; we have much
more demand from the Israeli industry than we can accommodate.
We feel that Signature is a good opportunity to expand business. India is
a very attractive and rapidly growing market for polished diamonds. It is a
key market for the global diamond industry and for Israel especially. Israel’s
diamond trade with India has grown dramatically over the past few years.
We find the timing of Signature is good. It is one of the first major trade
shows on the diamond calendar and as such we see it as an important
indicator of how the diamond market will fare during the year.
We are quite interested in reaching out to the local jewellery market,
including retailers. Our experience at previous shows has been quite positive
and we are optimistic that the show will be a positive opening note to
another good year for the Israeli diamond industry.
Chinese visitors are all geared up
Signature presents good sourcing
opportunities
As a wholesaler, we are looking for competitive prices in loose diamonds.
They are still hot in China. This is our first visit to Mumbai.
Wang Jianwen, Beijing Jiashuo Jewellery
We are looking for good loose diamonds and color gemstones manufacturers. We are one of the important wholesalers in China. We look forward to
visit Mumbai.
Yang Mingrui, Love of Diamond Jewellery Company
Opportunity is everywhere not only at shows. But Signature and IIJS are
established for many years and play an important role in the international
jewellery market.
Li Jiangang, Lianhe Lanhai
Although Signature is a smaller show than IIJS it is still important to us as
we can meet suppliers in a relaxed environment.
Meng Yanfei, Bangke Jewellery
I have been attending Signature since 2008. In my experience, over the years
there is a much better choice of good suppliers.
Zhang Qi, Gemdem Diamond Company
Signature is after the Chinese New Year, which is the hot sale season for all
Chinese jewellers. So this is the right time to restock our inventories and we
are looking forward to the show.

Signature Mumbai is

and visitors from all

Signature is maturing
with every passing
year and able
to attract more
retailers resulting in
good opportunities
for us. Many retailers
now consider it a must-visit show
as they are able to spend time with
existing and potential suppliers in
a relaxed environment and plan out
next season.
The fact that there are only select
decision-maker retailers present
enable them get more time to see
product lines and plan delivery
schedules. As a manufacturer we
are able to give better service and
attention to them
We expect a good response at
Signature considering that Diwali
sales were good for retailers. Our
ongoing follow up with potential
customers should materialize at
Signature as well.
Shailesh Rathod, KP Sanghvi Jewels
Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai
The response I have
received from
Signature is
much better than
expectations. We
receive more positive
enquiries and also
several bulk orders during and after
the show. We are also able to develop
long term business relations. Retailers
are well acquainted with the fashion
nerve of the local customers, and at
Signature they are able to update
themselves with the new trends and
better serve their clientele.
Loose

Signature is a good
opportunity for us to
expand our business
because we get new
customers. The
market is good so we
expect good business.
February is a convenient time for us
Ramesh P. Mangukiya, Perry Impex,
Mumbai
Since the gem &
jewellery business
sector is growing,
an all-India show
like SIGNATURE
is bound to have a
beneficial effect on
the industry. It’s quite similar to IIJS,
the only difference is there are quality
visitors.
There is vast scope for meeting new
buyers at Signature and last year we
even did business with international
buyers. Since the business is blooming,
we forecast high demand at the
forthcoming show.
Nikhil Shah, Star Brillian, Mumbai
Signature is a good
opportunity to
expand our business
as we expect new
customers and
more business
opportunities in this
show. Since it is much more compact
and visitors are restricted to decisionmakers, we have footfalls of only
serious buyers not window shoppers.
As an exhibitor under the loose
stones section, the timing of the
show is good for us because bulk
buyers want to buy loose stones in the
beginning of the year to prepare their
jewellery collections.

Signature is a good

expand as we get

as international
buyers. Since they are
serious buyers, we are able to better

helps to improve our growth and

Signature is a topnotch show, as it
has quality buyers

good opportunity to

I am looking forward to the show since
Mumbai is the hub of the wholesale
