The less bending layout achieved low exhaust gas back pressure. Maximization of performance from stock turbine is the concept of the product. Extension portion and front pipe portion are connected with a flexible joint. It improves “durability” that is an important factor of tuning. - The bad feeling due to exhaust resistance at high rpm is prevented. Power & torque will be increased for whole rpm range up to high rpm. - CAD designed complicated but ideal shape is manufactured with lost wax casting. Without welding portion, the smooth inner surface guides exhaust gas flow smoothly. - The turbine outlet is 2 ports independent shape for main turbine impeller side and bypass internal wastegate side to reduce resistance due to interference of gas. The target horsepower is around 430PS that is the middle of stock boost up and external wastegate type turbo. - The turbine assy is newly developed HKS original turbine. It is a stock replacement turbine kit to LANCER EVOLUTION IV-IX, which have reverse revolution direction turbine. - The ball bearing enables both high power and response. - The exhaust impeller is inconel and compressor side is aluminum for well balanced performance of heat resistance and response. [ Point of the new HKS original turbine ] ○HKS original development Since establishment for 36 years, HKS have been trying turbo tuning. However, there was a limitation to make better item/specification using core of universal turbines. To develop ideal turbine for tuning engine, design, testing, production and closing in house is needed. Therefore, HKS developed an original turbine. ○Ball bearing HKS made debut of ball bearing turbine as “GT Turbine” and it has been well supported since then. Since the mechanism highly balances response and horsepower, this system is equipped for the newly developed turbine. ○Characteristic of the turbine Larger compressor and turbine wheels than stock 4G63, ball bearing and twin scroll turbine housing enable high horsepower as well as the same level of torque and response at low and middle rpm range as stock turbine. The target is 430PS that is the middle between boost up of stock turbine and Full Turbine (GT3240). ○Materials and durability Materials of housing, impellers are no compromise and better than other famous turbo manufacturers’. Durability and heat resistance performance are proven during development. ○Future lineup Normal revolution direction turbine for 4B11. This item reinforce it without any modification. ・Stock sheet metal is changed with high strength aluminum material. ・Honeycomb shape reinforcement rib prevents deformation from any directions. ・Flange portion has enough thickness for high rigidity of fixing to the case.
