You say: "I'm too tired."
God says: I will give you rest.
You say: "I can't manage."
God says: I will supply all your needs.
(Matthew 11:28-30) “Come to me, all you who
labor & carry heavy burdens, and I will give you
rest. Take my yoke upon your shoulders and
learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of
heart. Here you will find rest for your souls, for
my yoke is easy and my burden is light. ”
(Philippians 4:19) In return, our God will fulfill all
your needs in Christ Jesus, as lavishly as only
God can.
You say: "I can't go on."
God says: My grace is sufficient.
(2 Corinthians 12:9) And God says, "My grace is
sufficient for you, for power is perfected in
weakness. Most gladly, therefore, I would rather
boast of my weaknesses, that the power of
Christ may dwell in me."
You say: "I am afraid."
God says: I have not given you a spirit of fear.
(2 Timothy 1:7) For God didn’t give us a spirit of
timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of selfdiscipline.
You say: "I'm always worried and frustrated."
God says: Cast all your cares on me.
(1 Peter 5:7) Cast all your anxiety on God, who
cares for you.
You say: "I can't figure it out."
God says: I will direct your steps.
You say: "I'm not smart enough."
God says: I give you wisdom.
(Proverbs 3:5-6) Trust YHWH with all your
heart, and don’t rely on your own understanding;
acknowledge God in everything you do, and God
will direct your paths.
(1 Corinthians 1:30) Christ has given you life in
Christ Jesus and has made Jesus our wisdom, our
justice, our sanctification and our redemption.”
You say: "I can't do it."
God says: You can do all things.
(Philippians 4: 13) I can do everything through
the One who gives me strength.
You say: "Nobody really loves me."
God says: I love you.
(John 3:16) Yes, God so loved the world that he
gave the Only Begotten One, that whoever believes may not die, but have eternal life.”
(John 13:34) "A new command I give you: Love
one another. As I have loved you, so you must
love one another."
Blessings to you and your families in this New Year 2013!

From Your Lay Leader ......................................................................................................................George Burgess
Welcome to 2013! I hope that 2012 was good to you all. I have really enjoyed the last year as your Lay Leader of
this beautiful church. I have visited with lots of people either in assisted living, or in their homes. During the last year
I have tried to send cards to those who have birthdays, or who are under the weather. I have learned a lot from
talking with people. There is an old saying that" you can not teach an old dog new tricks". Well I have to say that is
not true with this old dog. He has learned a lot, and is going to use some of the things that I learned in the coming
year. One of my goals for 2013 is to try to visit more people, and try to be more attentive to their needs. I still will
try and help Pastor Donna out in many ways. Good health and happiness to you and your family. If anyone would
like to have me visit you or be on my card list please contact me. My phone # is 608-356-4639, or 608-477-0585.
Yours in Christ, George

Meeting at our church
If you'd like to join us for pasty preparation, we'd be glad to have
you. There are a variety of jobs where you can stand or sit. You
don't have to commit to a specific time period. Come when
you can and leave when you'd like. We're usually finished with the
baking by noon. Two or three people stay through the afternoon until the orders are
all picked up. If you'd like to help call Alice Schellenberger at 356-2387.
You're always welcome to participate in any of our activities. We appreciate all the
support for our ongoing projects. Keep saving those coupons, soup labels, milk moola
labels, old neckties and baubles (for Cambodian women to make
into purses) and navy slacks or skirts and while shirts (school
uniforms). We shipped $13,000+ worth of coupons that we
saved over a three month period. We
already have $3,000+ towards the next shipment.
Also, thanks to a very generous memorial gift we have been able to make large donations to a variety of projects: Heifer International, Kids' Ranch scholarships, the new
stoves, Redbird Mission scholarships, the Backpack Project, Cambodian scholarships,
Growing Through Grief videos, and UMCOR for hurricane relief and clean water projects.
