In March 2008, Cleco securitized the funds used to pay for the Katrina/Rita storm damages and created a fund for future storm repair, pair, and the monthly cost to customers was reduced. The securitized bonds were issued by a Special ial Purpose Entity (SPE), Cleco Katrina/Rita Hurricane Recovery Funding LLC, a subsidiary of Clecoo Power LLC. The SPE is the owner of the rights to the storm recovery charge while Cleco Powerr LLC acts as the collection agent for the SPE. Look up The cause of most power outages are trees and tree limbs on power lines. Planting trees too close to power lines can affect reliability and become a safety hazard. Cleco’s Right Tree in the Right Place guide can help you plan your landscape. Learn about appropriate species of trees and safe planting distances. Pick up a guide at the Cleco customer service office nearest you, download at cleco.com or call 1-800-622-6537 to have a copy mailed to your home. Before you plant trees, put up fencing or perform other digging, be sure to call Louisiana One Call at 811. This one call will ensure all appropriate utilities are contacted. They will meet with you, mark any underground lines and advise you about proper digging procedures. We wanted our customers to have that option, too. The food banks will use the money to help fund school backpack programs within Cleco’s service territory to provide a backpack for children filled with nutritious and easy-to-prepare food. Cleco cares for kids in need. Cleco employees stuff bags with nutritious food for children to take home on weekends and during holidays so they have food to eat when other means are not readily available.
