Brittany Stewart lives in Laguna and works in
commercial real estate. Her hobbies include
paddle boarding, hiking and wine tasting and she
enjoys First Thursdays Art Walk. Her beach time
favors the serenity and pure sand of Emerald Bay
and Rockpile for its tide pools. Happy Hour at
Splashes, tuna rolls at San Shi Go and Adolfo’s
chicken tacos are her favorite go tos and Brittany
loves L.F. for clothes and Tuvalu for everything
they carry! Brittany is interested in being the
best person she can be while inspiring others to
be the same. Her future goals are to get married,
start a family and travel to ten new countries.

The “Rads Challenge”
Similar to the “Aquathon,” the “Rads Challenge” is an
underground “by-invite-only” mountain bike event
hosted by members of Laguna’s “Rads” mountain bike
club and is held on some of Laguna’s most notorious
and challenging trails!
The race starts with a road sprint followed by a steep
technical climb of 800 feet (over the course of one
mile), leading to a gut wrenching fire road finishing
with a very steep, technical and dangerous downhill.
Depending on the source, this year marked either the
15th or 31st anniversary of the event, such is the way
with ‘unofficial’ events!
This year’s “Challenge” was announced last-minute to
a select few who spread the word. The race went off
without a hitch but the awards ceremony was mired
in ‘friendly’ allegations of cheating and sporting
fraud. Nonetheless, only smiles and laughter could
be heard at the post-race BBQ where these RADS
celebrated their love for bikes, beer, the outdoors
and friendships!
