BIOLOGICAL SUBSTANCES PACKAGING
DIAGNA PAK ABM
DIAGNA-PAK ABM is a cost-effective package, designed to ship ambient
diagnostic/biological substance-Category B medical specimens. Each bag has
the absorbent laminated to the inside panels, so there is no need to add absorbent strips when preparing the sample for shipment. Simply insert the sample,
seal the adhesive bag closure securely, insert your paperwork into the heat
sealed pouch on the back of each bag, and insert the bag into the preprinted
outer shipping box.
Each outer shipping box (tuck and fold assembly) measures 7" x 11 3/4"
x 3 1/2" and is preprinted with the appropriate markings for a diagnostic
shipment (PI 650). These markings include: UN3373 (BIOLOGICAL
SUBSTANCE, Category B), to and from address markings, and direction
arrow markings. The absorbent lined BIOBAG fits diagonally (corner to
corner) inside the outer box. This design allows the sample to be suspended during transport to protect sample integrity.
Code: PK-DIANAMB
DIAGNA BIOBAG
Meets 95 kPa
The DIAGNA BIOBAG is the inner component of our diagnostic/ biological substance, Category B shipper “DIAGNA-PAK AMB”. These 7 1/2" x
11" bags are available separately, but require proper compliance to applicable
regulations including proper outer box markings.
Each patented bag has an absorbent laminated to the inside panels, so there
is no need to use absorbent strips when preparing the sample for shipment.
A pouch for paperwork is heat sealed on the rear panel of each bag.
To release the adhesive liner, fold the closure lip of the bag backwards and
roll your thumbs upward. This will separate the liner from the adhesive.
After sealing the bag, rub both bag edges to ensure a secure seal.
Code: PK-BIOBAG
5-Hole Foam Insert
The 5-hole foam insert is a die-cut hydrophilic polyurethane foam designed as an
optional insert for our plastic 95 kPa, 1-pint bottle with lid. It cushions and protects
your tubes during transport. Die-cut holes in the foam will accommodate the most
commonly used blood collecting tubes. The 5-hole configuration includes a 3/4"
protective cover.
This 5-hole foam insert can be used with “INFEKTA-PAK 1" (Infectious Shipper),
“INFEKTA-PAK 1" (4 Pack- Infectious Shipper), and “DIAGNA-PAK AMB”
(Diagnostic Shipper). Each master carton contains 75 inserts.
Sold in cartons of 75 inserts with covers.

Shipping Biological Substances and Dry Ice
Every day, biological substances are transported from sites such as hospitals, medical
clinics and scientific research locations. To ensure the safety of the public, special
rules apply to the transport of such potentially infectious agents, as well as the cooling agents often used to preserve them. Knowing how to classify and prepare these
substances correctly for transport can mean the difference between easy, effective
shipments versus delays, lost data, or perished specimens.
Topics covered
•
Course materials include
Overview of national and international regulations on
transport of biological substances and cooling agents
such as dry ice
•
Shipper’s and carrier’s responsibilities
•
7 Steps to Compliance
•
Exceptions from the regulations
•
Amendments and updates, including the new categories
for infectious substances

Recorded Webinar
A recorded webinar is a cost-effective method to providing training to a few people.
The webinar (Windows Media Player file) uses the same 7-Step philosophy that our
public training follows. It contains exercises and a quiz. You can ask questions by
using our live-chat or by contacting one of our regulatory specialists.

In-House Webinar
In-house webinar options are becoming more and more popular. Webinars save on
travel costs, and employees in one location or many locations can enjoy training
without leaving the office. Courses can be customized based on your particular shipping needs. Questions and answers are immediate and interactive.
In-House Option
If you prefer the in-person approach, we can send an instructor to your facility to deliver the material to the students. This approach allows for the most interaction with
employees and the instructor.
Contact us to discuss which option is best for you.
