The investment in propane vehicles and infrastructure is approximately $70 million. • UPS will be using CleanFUEL USA’s Liquid Propane Injection (LPI) system in its planned purchase of 1,000 propane autogas package delivery trucks, as well as multiple refueling stations across the United States. • The UPS delivery truck is based on a new CleanFUEL USA offering, the Freightliner Custom Chassis MT-45 walk-in van with CleanFUEL USA LPI system and 6.0L engine provided by Powertrain Integration. UPS ® Utilizing CleanFUEL USA Liquid Propane Injection Systems and Propane Autogas Refueling Stations for Delivery Truck Fleet Installation • The propane fleet will replace gasoline- and diesel-fueled vehicles used largely in rural areas in Louisiana and Oklahoma with other states pending. The vehicles on these routes can travel approx. 270 miles on a tank of propane. Operations will begin by mid-2014 and be completed early next year. • UPS tested 20 propane-powered brown delivery trucks successfully this past winter in Gainesville, Georgia. • The new propane fleet is expected to travel more than 25 million miles and to displace approximately 3.5 million gallons of conventional gasoline and diesel per year.
