Obi’s TRADING ROOM, Inc. is a SEC-registered company
engaged in design, product development and wholesale of
apparel and fashion accessories, office accessories and
corporate giveaways, home accessories, and a variety of
pro-environment products.
Established in 1992 as a small scale venture selling bags to
relatives and friends, our business has since expanded to the
export and import of a wide range of products to meet the
varying needs of our clientele.
About Us
As part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR), TRADING
ROOM works with local cooperatives, backyard businesses and
poor communities in developing an assortment of products,
including the use of recycled materials. Recently, we expanded
our CSR initiatives by working with local communities in a new
social venture using seaweeds. We aim to bridge the gap
between these communities and the marketplace.
Today, TRADING ROOM continues to service its clients with
quality products and reliable service that it has always been
known for.

In 2012, Obi's TRADING ROOM, Inc. ventured into another
social project – partnering with several coastal communities
around the Philippines.
Seaweeds
The high biomass of sea lettuce (Ulva lactuca Linnaeus) has
become a nuisance to the community as well as the marine life.
It has been identified by marine scientists as the cause of the
Green Tide. Accordingly, harvesting of washed ashore Ulva, is in
fact advantageous to the environment (Dr. Edna G. Fortes, PhD,
UP Marine Science Institute), making this venture
environment-friendly.
Changing
the
Environment
Our partner communities harvest washed ashore sea lettuce
and dry these naturally under the tropical sun. The dried Ulva is
then exported and processed into an all organic animal feed
supplement.
