Bet on Business! FBLA Arizona Executive Council On behalf of FBLA Arizona, we would like to welcome you to the 52nd Annual State Leadership Conference! This year, FBLA is going all in and “Betting on Business” and we’re glad that you made the same choice! We started the year with Leadership Camp in Prescott and then launched the 2nd Annual Online Testing Tournament! We once again joined forces with Arizona HOSA for the FLEX Conference at the US Airways Center and Phoenix Convention Center. Our Regional Conferences were hosted on college campuses and we saw more than 1,500 students compete all across the state. This year, all students that complete the FBLA “Leadership Certification” will receive official certificates and they will be entered into a drawing to win some awesome prizes including: an iPad Mini, gift cards, and more! In order to be eligible, a student must receive three punches on their activity card. The first punch is reserved for the Leadership Gauntlet and MUST be completed! The other two punches can be a workshop, MOD dance, or viewing a competitive event final. Conference Name Badges Name badges should be worn at all times while attending conference activities. There is a $5 charge for replacement of lost name badges, and replacements will only be given to your chapter Adviser or chaperone. Replacements can be made in the Conference Information Room during published Conference Headquarters hours. Dance Conduct As an FBLA member at this conference, it is important to remember that professionalism does not stop once your events are over. Therefore, we are reminding all members that inappropriate dancing is not allowed at FBLA sponsored dances. Inappropriate behavior includes moshing, slam dancing, freak dancing, and any lewd or sexually explicit displays, or anything that could be construed as inappropriate touching will not be allowed. If any of the above conducts are observed, you will be asked to leave the dance. If the general atmosphere at the dance reflects inappropriate behavior, the dance will be shut down. Please remember that you are FBLA members and are expected to act in a professional manner at all times. Information Posting For conference updates and postings of times, please check the bulletin board by the Conference Information Desk. Members and Advisers are also encouraged to follow Arizona FBLA on Twitter, as tweets will be sent out as finals are posted in each event. For those staying in overflow hotels, the FBLA Arizona website will be updated with finals as they become available. Spectators Only final rounds in performance events are open for observation. Event participants may not observe others in their competitive events. Events in the Pavilion are not open to spectators. Spectators are limited to the room size and may not enter or exit during performances. Dress Code The FBLA Dress Code is in effect during business hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in all conference facilities as well as during all scheduled sessions and events.
