The new Mag.neco rd Voyager PT6-VA H is a single-case
portable recorder designed to lighten all remote recording chores. Built for rugged serv ice in the field, it combines new convenience at no sacrifice of durability and
strength. like all Magnecord units, the Voyager retains
the superb quality that has ",!ade Magnecord the most
widely used of professional tape recorders around
the world.
In design, the Voyag'e r consists of the basic PT6-AH
tape transport, hinged back-to-back with a new recor d/
ployback amplifier with dual equalizer for both l V2 '
and 15- tape speeds. The amplifier swings up into position on top of the recorder unit at a moment's notice,
or slides free for side-by-side operation. Interconnecting cables are permanently plugged in for instant set-up .

THE NEW PT6-V AMPLIFIER
This new amplifier features dual equalizatian for 7 Y2 - and
15- tope speeds. It provides both a high impeda nce bridging input and a low impedance microphon e input. Output,
600 ohms balanced or unbalanced, with a ma ximum of +\0
dbm. 0 dbm corresponds to meter zero. Front panel provides on illuminated 3- VU meter and an earphone jack
for monitoring both recording and playback and a switch
to change equalization.

TAPE RECORDINGS OF STARTLING REALISM
like stereo-photography, 3-dimensional tape recording odds depth
and direction to sound. permitting you to hear the sound "all around
you", or isolate one sound from .the rest. The Mognecord Binaural
listens "with two ears", achieving th e most startling realism yet possible by a recording process.
Binaural , sound is fed by two low impedance microphones into the
PT6-BN amplifier. Channels are amplified separately and recorded
simultaneously with dual holf-track Binourol · heads on standard 14magnetic tape . "Binourol" playbacks employ the Binoural amplifier
plus earphones or two converging speakers.
For recording music, Binaural achieves "natural" reproduction of a
degree never before available, virtually duplicating the original performance for instructional purposes or greater listener en joyment.
As a reseorch tool for industry, the Binaural system can be used either
for 3-dimensional sound studies or for any purpose where duol chon·
nels are useful in reco rding synchronous functions. Also, the test can
be recorded on one track, with a spoken commentary or 0 tim e signal
on the other.
