PREZ SEZ
Hello GMC Truck Chapter members:
I hope all is well with everyone and
you are enjoying some of this awesome weather that has come down
lately! Car shows and events have
popped up all over the place talking
about “spring fever” Wow!!! I know
with this early spring some have already felt the nastiness of tornadoes
and such and I sincerely hope for the
speedy recovery for all. We have had
some severe weather here in Oklahoma but where I am we have been
spared of the tornadoes so far.
Like I said with the early spring car
shows have sprung up every where,
first night of cruise at a local hamburger joint there were over 300 cars
in the parking lot of all sorts of makes
and models was pretty awesome to see
what people had been doing and some
we haven’t seen before?
We have had a change in officers of the
chapter and we welcome again Ron as
treasurer and thank him for accepting
this position and Steve for stepping up
as Vice Press. It is great to have people
available for these spots. And Paul for
his hard work with the newsletter and
website promoting the chapter!
Don’t forget the convention is coming
soon! Hope that some chapter members can attend, I won’t be there for financial reasons this year but I am sure
it will be a great convention and chapter get together without me! Show off
some of those GMC trucks!
Which if anyone attends a local car
show or see something the rest of us
might be interested in take pictures and
send them on to Paul to share with the
rest of us in the newsletter! I hope to
make some local car shows and I will
try to remember to do the same for
Paul!
I am going to stay off the soap box this
time, just want to wish everyone a safe
car show season, and HAVE FUN!

1939 GMC FUTURLINER #3
PARADE OF PROGRESS VEHICLE
This is clearly the most accurate and original unrestored Futurliner of twelve
built. Since only eight remain today, this is the last opportunity to own one of
the most important pieces of automotive history of all time. This vehicle rolls
on a brand new set of “Parade of Progress” tires specially manufactured for the
remaining busses. Inside the viewing bay are the rubber strips, aluminum strips,
and joining bead to complete the exterior portion of a restoration.
The last restored Futurliner sold for $4.2M at a Jackson-Barrett auction. The
value of this bus at completion is estimated to be a minimum of $2.8M once completed, given the current market. Just $400,000 puts this iron in your living room!
Restoration knowledge and consultation included in price!

Location: Chatsworth, California, asking $400,000

Well, I am trying to get back on a more

timely schedule with the GMC Times,
it’s been quite busy here with the POCI
Convention and other Club Office demands, but we’re staying afloat. The
weather is getting much better and soon
we will be cruisin’ to local car shows.
I am in need of feature trucks for the
newsletter, so now would be a great time
to take a few pictures and write up a few
notes on your GMC and send it on over!
We like to see both completed and inprogress vehicles.
I hope to see some of you in St. Charles,
let me know if you have any questions
on the convention registration or activity
sign-up process.
Keep on Truckin’!

1947 GMC Model PD3751 Silversides Bus: This a really neat piece of
Americana, was converted to a motor
home approximately 10 years ago,
good overall condition with major
repairs to the front end, brakes, and
clutch over the past year. It is a super
driver for its age and the ride is really
smooth. The bus gets an honest 10
mpg on the road. The Bridgestone tires
are in good shape. The engine is a 571
Detroit and has a four speed manual.
Engine and transmission were done
around 46,000 miles ago. The bus is
aluminum alloy and there is virtually
no rust. The motor home will sleep
up to six. Has full sized bedroom in
1966 GMC Suburban, frame on restoration on a nice Arizona truck. 454
ci engine, fresh turbo 400 transmission, Dana 44 w/2.07 posi. $34,900
