The painting remains in its final state for a brief period, then dissolves, layer after layer, turning the wall once again into a blank canvas awaiting the creation of a new image. White 9 Route White 2 Route Jaffa Gate plaza Aquastell | David Lesort & Arnaud Giroud, Pitaya | France This gigantic installation is made up of several dynamic lighting arches. The setting of the arches gives the spectator different significant points of view, from close proximity to a bigger picture when it’s seen from afar. Red 10 Route Hurva Square Batei HaMachseh Square A video extravaganza projected on a wall of the Hurva synagogue, synchronized with a video projected on a screen mounted on an industrial robot arm. The robot’s movement synchronized with the video creates a dance and gives rise to an entire choreography that incorporates all of the media. Urban Poetry Stereoscopic 3D Video Mapping using 3D anaglyph glasses. The installation takes place in the urban scenario of a city where a mysterious character, one dancer/traceur, is moving by Parkour using the architectural elements of the building. The struggle between the character and the city produces scenes highly poetic mixing hard, urban elements with natural ones. Picture in Motion | AVS | Israel Blue 17 Route Maronite Convent Street Spin | Fugara | Israel The installation investigates urban life as a perennial quest for the unattainable. We use light as a raw material, like graffiti on a wall. “Spin” reacts to the movement of passersby, and translates the visitors’ motions into living beings of light and shadows along the alley. Green 25 Route New Gate Lawn Giant Dandelions | Olivia d’Aboville Philippines 90 differently sized, giant flowers - form a forest for the public to enjoy. The dandelions are made of some 9,000 recycled water bottles. They were cut up to be welded with nylon again into a work of art. Urban Poetry | Ocubo | Portugal Blue 18 Route Muristan Square Lamps of Muristan Eli Kaplan-Wildmann and Talya Tomer Israel Huge Victorian lampshades, delicately decorated by hand, light up the craftsmen and vendors of the market. Originally created as protection from the harmful effects of a new invention - the electric light bulb - today they hearken back to a time when the human touch prevailed – as it still does in the market around this square. Green 26 Route Tzahal Square Traffic Jam! | Merav Eitan & Gaston Zahr - OGE Group | Israel This vertical traffic jam finds the humor in those annoying urban situations in which we are stuck every day. We think of traffic lights, car lights and signal lights as things that are technical, practical and normal. The artist transforms them into an original and funny moment. Old City Tourist Attractions White 3 Route Jaffa Gate plaza A moment with Water Fountains | Diana Civle Janis Petersons תMarcis Gulbis – Atklaj Rigu | Latvia Synchronized with music and light, water fountains will change the dark, surrounding city. Experience jets of water shooting towards the sky and disappearing soon again, leaving behind only memories of this magical story. Fountain show will start each 10 minutes during festival hours. Red 11 Route Mount Zion trail Church of the Dormition | Kobi Rosenthal | Israel A musical light concert – a celebration of light and color. Breathtaking light movements and a live opera performance combine in a singular experience. The tower will come to life with colors and shadows and a choreography of light rings will lead the public on. Blue 19 Route Closed Cardo Cardo Circus | Yossi Jimmy Elian Kaczka –Lula | Israel The Cardo – the ancient and eternal marketplace, full of colors, aromas and sounds. The artist Elian Kaczka -Lula created 5 spectacular sculptures entirely of corrugated cardboard, which will come to life in a multitude of colors and shapes when a video designed and animated by multimedia artist Yossi Jimmy is projected on them. Pink 27 Route Historic Central Post building Do’ar Na (“Mobile Post Office “) | Yuvi Gerstein and Shuli Oded | Israel This fascinating project takes Israel’s iconic red mailboxes and updates them for today’s interactive, high-tech world: the mailboxes function as musical instruments and the public is invited to “play” them. Free Admission: Teddy Park: The park was established by the Jerusalem Foundation and tells the story of the establishment of modern Jerusalem. In the center of the park is the spectacular Sylvia Hassenfeld Fountain of Music and Light, environmental sculpture and a visitors’ center that should not be missed. The show is held 3 times every night at 20:00, 21:00 and 22:00 Paid Attractions: The Tower of David: As night falls and light touches stone, the Tower walls fade into a breathtaking three-dimensional illusion. Tower of David Tower of David Night Spectacular 25.5 - at 20:30, 21:30 | 26.5 - at 22:30 | 28.5 - at 21:00, 22:00 | 30.5 - at 20:30, 21:30 | 1.5 - at 20:30 White 4 Route Christian Information Center THE PRINCE OF LIGHTS | Damien Fontaine | France The Christian Information Center becomes a theatre of a fantastic saga. The façades swing and sway as our young hero passes by, following in the footsteps of the light swallowers. Along the winding roads of far-away lands, you will see him appear – first as a tiny dot among colossal insects and tentacular plants, then as a giant among the stars-until he finds his light. Red 12 Route HaBonim Garden A The Bubble AVS | Ido Sapir, Noa Kressel | Israel Within the bowl, the bubble integrates with other bubbles released in its direction; it collides, connects or explodes bubbles that are too large. The Bubble project is a voice-operated game produced by its participants. Blue 20 Route Covered Cardo Crystallized | Jonathan Richer&David Chanel - Theoriz | France CRYSTALLIZED is an audio-visual sculpture using the principle of volumetric projection. The installation, with its geometric proportions based on crystalline materials, like a bismuth crystal, diffuses a soundscape and video reflections on the surroundings. It invites the public to contemplate this sculpture and wander around it. Pink 28 Route Generali Building Eiffel Tower | Luminarie De Cagna | Italy The Eiffel Tower, 27 meters high and 9.40 meters wide, is covered in thousands of LED lamps, microlights that realistically remember the glittering effect of true Parisian tower. White 5 Route White Armenian Patriarchate Street Coloured Origami | Gloria Ronchi and Claudio Benghi | Italy pired by playful childhood memories combined with Aether & Hemera’s design aesthetic. Dozens of handcrafted origami, encasing dynamic LED lights to create an imaginative and immersive magical experience. Creating beautiful ever changing lighting effects, mesmerizing patterns of waves and bright rainbows. Red 13 HaBonim Garden B An environmental sculpture that symbolizes both ongoing change and a sense of entrapment along a central axis. Two rings of light complement each other while the light reflected from them differs. When viewers move away and look at the work from a distance, they see how everything can be integrated to create beauty and co-existence. In Kabbalah, the Tree of Life represents the process and secrets of Creation. Sometimes, in relation to the sephirot, Rabbi Kook used the concept of light, which underscores the spiritual dimension of the sephirot and the process by which they unfold and emanate from each other. 29 Route Northern Lights | ALEKSANDRA STRATIMIROVIC, STICHTING AMSTERDAM LIGHT FESTIVAL | Sweden The northern light, aurora borealis, is the most spectacular and poetic light phenomenon of the Northern Hemisphere. A poetic monumental installation by the renowned Swedish artist. 22 Route Maxime Houot - Collectif Coin Co-production: Insight Outside Originally exhibited: lyons-Fete des Lumieres 2014 | France A large collection of luminous spheres digitalize a space, transforming it into an ever-changing, multi-sensory experience. Pink Hatulot Square – Friends of Zion Museum building White 7 Route White 8 Route Back of Zion Gate Gan HaTkuma Archeological ruins Universal Spin is a kinetic installation that self regulates with the wind and generates a spinning three-dimensional structure. A game of light, shadows and sound. The animation in FLORA is generated by sine waves that travel through a string of lines. This wave principle often appears in nature when energy is transmitted through a medium like air or water. It can also be observed in the locomotion of animals, in which kinetic energy is transmitted successively through joints. Universal Spin | Alessandro Lupi | Germany Red 15 Route The international Arts and Crafts Fair The international Arts and Crafts Fair Hutzot HaYotzer – an artists’ and designers’ workshop lane, at the foot of Jerusalem’s Old City walls. Hutzot HaYotzer has been home to photographers and painters, embroiderers and weavers, designers and gold/silversmiths for fifty years. The lane is being revitalized by young artists, and diversified by the presence of new and technically sophisticated work processes, alongside its ancient and traditional crafts. Green 23 Route Damascus Gate Globoscope Stories of Damascus Gate | Albert Yashinsky, Arik Putterman, Yavin Ben-Reshef, Garo Kaboshian | Israel The Tree of Life appears repeatedly in different faiths and cultures. The tree symbolizes longevity, wealth, honor, peace and an unblemished world – our highest aspirations as human beings. Through video and animation technology, the stories will come to life on the Damascus Gate, and will prominently reflect the Gate’s surrounding environment. Flora | Philipp Artus | Germany Blue 16 Route Maronite Convent Street plaza Green Marvelous Opulence | Maro Avrabou and Dimitri Xenakis | France No doubt the progress of science have solved major problems and brought to mankind a real well-being. But the desire for a continuous production flow, the dream of a permanent opulence, do they not let appear the danger of transforming organisms into standardized serial products? The artists use plastic shopping bags that fold to make them look like cabbages or salads. Green 24 Route Olive Tree Lawn Large Fire Tornado | Ivo Schoofs Kinetic Humor | The Netherlands Fire is the mother of light; nature in all its destructive beauty. Artist and technical engineer Ivo Schoofs saw what happened when a tornado raged across a forest fire to elevate the flames. He wondered if it was possible to reproduce that very same effect. The Large Fire Tornado is created by a powerful fire source and 36 industrial fans. You are about to see light in its most original form. 30 Route Yoel Moshe Solomon Pedestrian Mall Balls of Light | Siddhartha | Israel A video mapping stunningly projected on the Friends of Zion Museum building. Art and technology meet in this salute to Israel’s capital city – a one-of-a-kind visual celebration featuring scenes inspired by Jerusalem’s history and symbolism.
