rockin’ blues band that can be best described as a
howling hurricane of a five piece ensemble. Their
truly diverse musical influences are the driving
force behind a proprietary sound that simply can’t
be matched by your average Blues band on the

Charles Driscoll
with Sam Brownson
(Folk Rock)
Everyone’s favorite GrooveXpress performer can be
found this GrooveWalk playing at Butch’s! Charles
Driscoll is a singer and guitarist known for getting
everyone to join in on the sing along. One of
Holland’s original street performers and a regular at
the Holland Farmers Market, Charlie D. has traveled
the world, bringing smiles to locals around the
globe. Charlie will be joined by Sam Brownson of
the Illinois-based band Poets and Peasants.
Jimkata
(Electric Rock)
Jimkata is a nationally touring electro-rock band
blending heavy beats, synthy hooks, and big guitars
to create music with both modern and timeless
appeal. Their latest EP, the 80’s pop-tinged “Ghost
& Killers” (a perfect fit for BooWalk) is an authentic
dance-pop nugget complete with 21st century,
infectious guitar hooks.
Matt Gabriel Trio
(Rock and Roll)
In less than one year’s time, The Matt Gabriel Trio
has been written up in Recoil Magazine, been
interviewed live WYCE Radio, and played their
native State of Michigan from top to bottom. Working
on a follow up record to their first album at the
moment, “The Thief” is an honest blend of folk and
blues with a solid rock and roll center. The exact
quality of music you would expect from three boys
who grew up between Chicago and Detroit. A must
see live show with a very approachable recorded
sound. It’s music you can trust and believe in.

(Progressive Rock)
“Shred ‘n’ flow” is how Jahman Brahman describes
their unique style, meaning dynamic sound with a
wide breadth of influence. Each member’s musical
intuition and influences are unique. From classic rock
to electronica to punk to jazz, elements from many
genres are found in the band’s music. As a result,
the band pioneers new sounds as the coalescence

creative compositions.
The Werks
(Dance Rock)
As a result of their eclectic individual influences,
The Werks produce a dance party that can be
appreciated by a majority of musical tastes. Fusing
the psychedelic shredding guitar and screaming
organ of jam and classic rock with funk slap bass,
synthesizers and modern dance beats, The Werks
create their own style of music entitled “Psychedelic
Dance Rock”. Their unique style of performing
is affected and manipulated by the energy of the
audience.

Doug Peterson
Hailing from Kalamazoo, Doug Peterson approaches his music with irreverence and a sense
of soul felt sentimentality. His sound has been
likened to Cat Stevens, Billy Corgan, and Weird
Al playing for a Victorian tea party after the wine
has arrived. Performing a set, he can move
seamlessly from a folk ballad, to a melodic hard
rock anthem, into a quirky geeky love song, all
while engaging his audience with anecdotes and
personal stories.
Greg Hulsebos
Greg Hulsebos is a skilled musician and singer
who is known for his variety of early ragtime,
blues, and jazz tunes. He can be seen performing
regularly at the Holland Farmers Market and
during the Downtown Holland Street Performer
Series.

Paul Rice
Paul Rice is a songwriter from Naperville, Illinois.
Since graduating from Hope College in 2011, he
has been playing heartfelt, humble tunes at the
Farmers Market and Street Performer Series,
both solo and with his band, Bear Hug. His
material draws from old time mountain music,
recent indie rock, and everything in between.
Randy Schaap
Randy Schaap began playing harmonica in the
1980’s while playing bass with a gospel music
group in the tri-state area. His unique blues style
was shaped by artists such as Buddy Greene,
Charlie McCoy, and the music of blues legend
Little Walter. Currently, Randy plays in many
different venues, local recording studios, and the
Downtown Holland Street Performer Series.
Sam Kenny
Sam Kenny is a musician from Grand Rapids.
He bought a guitar in 1998 to learn and play
Bob Dylan songs for himself in his dorm room at
Illinois Wesleyan University. In 2000 he played
his own songs in front of others for the first time
at an open mic in Austin, Texas. This did not go
very well, and he was traumatized. He did not
play in front of others again until 2003 when
he started the rock band Fancy Thermos with
his brother, Billy. Sam plays shows of his own
songs and also cover shows where he plays his
favorites (and hopefully yours too).
