the
village
of
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, has been owned and operated by the Sabon
Favier family for several generations. It covers 50 hectares of vineyards
classified in the Châteauneuf-du- Pape appellation. Christian Favier, the
father, released the reins to his son, Alexandre, who has soon become
well-known in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Despite only being in his early 30’s
he has been lauded by famous journalists like Steve Tanzer in the US
and Jancis Robinson in the UK, Robert Parker…
70% Grenache - 20% Syrah - 10% Mourvèdre
The vineyard is located between Bois Dauphin (sandy soil) and Cabrières
(rolled pebbles soil). Vines: More than 80 years. Yield: 18-22 hectoliters per
hectare.
Manual grape harvest and grapes selection.
Fermentation: 70% in stainless steel tank and 30% in new oak barrels 16-22
months of ageing.
Crimson deep color with purplish lights. Concentred Nose of black fruits
jammy with pepper and liquorice. A body smooth and strong, black fruits with
lingerich finish.
Red meats grilled or « en sauce », meat, cheese.
15-20 years.
