Customer First Toyota Material Handling UK www.toyota-forklifts.co.uk Corporate Brochure14.indd 1 05/11/2014 10:04:17 Foreword I hope this brochure will help you to understand what drives us at Toyota Material Handling UK and the values that make us unique. At Toyota, we have a ‘Customer First’ philosophy that has its source in the Toyota Production System (TPS). No matter how good the final product might be, it would be worthless if it did not meet customers’ demands and satisfy their needs. We invest heavily in research and development, our production facilities and service centres. Training our people is vital in making sure that at the heart of our approach lies an uncompromising commitment to quality. At Toyota Material Handling UK we have a rich heritage built on a strong reputation for quality and manufacturing thanks to the TPS. We put our customers at the heart of everything we do and make sure that we deliver the highest level of customer satisfaction in the industry. Toyota has a reputation for excellence on a global scale, but it is only by acting locally that we can deliver the highest levels of customer service. This is delivered each and every day in the UK by a team of over 850 people trained to focus on delivering excellence and strengthened by the Toyota Way, a set of core values which guide our operations. In our journey towards becoming the UK’s first choice materials handling partner, we are confident that our ‘Customer First’ approach and our ongoing drive to continually improve will give customers total confidence and peace of mind that their equipment will continue to deliver Toyota’s highest standards of quality, safety and performance. Manufacturing close to our customers enables us to integrate our customers’ specific needs and demands. It means everyone in the process has instant on-line access to updated, integrated information – technical support, truck history, parts, truck availability and data for effective time and route planning • TSC also means exact-fit in terms of parts and people, with structured training and accreditation processes • Smart truck telemetry with GPRS/3G communication is also unique to Toyota, and available on almost every truck we produce. This allows better safety standards including driver management. With Toyota I_Site, complete fleet control for improved safety, efficiency and cost reduction is a reality RELIABILITY CONFIDENCE AVAILABILITY PRODUCTIVITY QUALITY SAFETY These are the expectations of our customers, alongside cost efficiency, sustainability and respect for the environment. We check these expectations by regularly talking to truck users in the UK through surveys, sales discussions and over 300,000 service visits every year. We work with customers from one-off users up to the largest fleet operations. Because our network extends across the UK we are always local. Understanding customer needs is at the heart of our operations. We call it CUSTOMER FIRST. 7 Corporate Brochure14.indd 7 05/11/2014 10:07:05 Environmental Responsibility Toyota believes that environmental responsibility is a cornerstone of good business practice. In line with the Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) Environmental Action Plan, we design-in environmental improvements in our equipment and processes to limit environmental impact throughout the four product life cycle stages: development, manufacturing, operation and recycling. Development Technologies including Hybrid, Fuel Cell and Lithium Ion are being evaluated and designed to maintain the excellent productivity and performance of our products. Lithium Ion is now available on our BT Levio powered pallet trucks and BT Optio order pickers. Manufacturing Toyota’s European production centres are all ISO 14001 certified and demand strict environmental standards from suppliers. With its emphasis on eliminating waste, the Toyota Production System (TPS) helps to reduce the environmental impact of our manufacturing activities. Operation In addition to an extensive range of emissions-free electric warehouse equipment and counterbalance forklifts, Toyota uses catalytic mufflers and diesel particulate filters for its engine-powered trucks. Recycling Moving towards the creation of a recycling-oriented society, Toyota Material Handling is continuously raising the recyclable level of its products at end of life. For instance, the Toyota Tonero and Toyota Traigo counterbalance forklifts are up to 99% recyclable. Safety inside and outside SpotME is an innovative accident prevention warehouse system that alerts drivers and pedestirans to potential upcoming hazards at crossings or in blind spots. Blue spot can be fitted to a truck and projects a blue light onto the floor several metres in front to alert other truck drivers and pedestrians. Toyota System of Active Stability Toyota forklift trucks equipped with SAS use intelligent technology to reduce driver and damage costs and improve safety. Our patented Toyota System of Active Stability (SAS) is the world’s first active safety system for forklifts. The system works by constantly monitoring over 3,000 key forklift functions to anticipate human error and take preventative action. No other forklift manufacturer offers this technology, making Toyota forklifts the safest forklifts in the world. Toyota AC² power system Combining an advanced Toyota AC electric motor with a Toyota controller, Toyota AC² uses the latest software technology to maximise power management and ensure optimum working efficiency. BT Powerdrive The BT Powerdrive system is the control system used in many 24-volt models in the BT warehouse range, including powered pallet trucks, stackers and order pickers. BT Powerdrive consists of the handle, controller and drive motor linked by can-bus technology. This fully integrated drive system brings real benefits in terms of operating efficiency, user safety and productivity. Choice of Transmission Tonero engine powered forklifts are now available with a choice of torque converter or hydrostatic transmission. 9 Corporate Brochure14.indd 9 05/11/2014 10:07:57 Product Range Toyota Material Handling offers a comprehensive range of Toyota and BT branded materials handling equipment, designed to meet evolving customer needs.
