Hopper, director of the Graduate Program in Health Administration, and former chairman of the Department of Preventive Medicine in the School of Medicine, retired Aug. 1 after 36 years of service with the university. Over a decade ago, Dr. Hopper founded the health administration curriculum whose graduates have become administrators in hospitals, clinical settings, and other health agencies throughout the state of Indiana and the nation. The faculty of the program, along with professional and academic friends, is arranging an evening of fellowship and recognition for Dr. and Mrs. Hopper on Friday, Aug. 14. School of Medicine Dean Steven C. Beering will preside. To enroll call the Red Cross at 634-1441. There will be a pool usage fee of $7.50. Elected -- Dr. James E. Weigand, dean of the I.U. School of Continuing Studies, has been elected president of the Indiana Council for Continuing Education. Safety in Today's Laboratory -- A one hour presentation/discussion featuring the safety film "Nobody's Perfect" and a slide presentation starring "Mr. D-Zaster and Miss Do-Gooder." To accommodate all interested persons there will be two sessions: the first Sept. 2 and the second Sept. 9 from 2 to 3 p.m. in Room B-26 of the Medical Science Building.
