THE CONCEPT
”Red Carpet for Young Art“ is an art award that
provides more than just a onetime subsidy. Organizers Manuel Gras, Karl Killian and Marcus
Schober are interested in providing ongoing support for young artists. Since 2009 an alternating
jury has been selecting four artists every year,
whose works are displayed in a solo exhibition
and several group exhibitions during the first
year. The exhibitions take place at partnering
galleries and off spaces. An additional measurement of support is the purchase of award winner’s artwork and PR as well as marketing activities for the award winners. This way of support
lasts for several years and offers the artists an
additional basis for their careers.
The Red Carpet also gets Viennese students and
graduates in touch with international art fairs
and galleries. Even turbulent times call for institutions that are open to new ideas.

are more than 350.000 paasersby every week!
ART FAIRS
Since five years the Red Carpet Art Award is part of the Viennafair, which is the most important Artfair
in Austria. Since 2014 the Red Carpet also has a booth at the Art Austria in the Leopold Museum.
