SPRING IS IN THE AIR!
Spring is in the air in Upstate New York! Spring brings thoughts of new
growth, renewal and revival. We smell and sense the world changing
around us. It’s a time when buds become leaves and flowers, when rain
washes streets and nourishes lawns and fields. Spring is a time for cleaning
out and making way for fresh possibilities and new commitments. It’s a time
to revive our senses and expand our horizons. It’s a time to begin again!

The one constant in life is change and the seasons of the year illustrate this
perfectly. The lesson for all of us is that we too have seasons/challenges in
our lives and each has its purpose. Each is a rite of passage, opening us
to the next season/challenge which follows. There are times of growth and
expansion. There are times of letting go, to prune the branches of the past,
in order to accommodate the new growth in our future.
The seasons are a great illustration of showing how skilled nature is at
unfolding the new possibilities. It is very important to fully embrace the
current season/challenge and Empower Federal Credit Union can help!

There have been a lot of changes (all positive) during the past year at
Empower Investment Services & Retirement Solutions!
First of all, we all became employees of Empower Federal Credit Union last
January, instead of being part of a subsidiary of Empower. This means we
became more aligned with the policies and procedures of Empower as well
as emphasize that we are part of the credit union.
Secondly, we changed the firm that processes our investment business,
moving from our former “Broker-Dealer” to CUSO Financial Services, a firm
whose business is primarily dealing with credit unions. This translates to
products and services that are more suited for members of Empower FCU.

Also, we have moved our operations to the headquarters of Empower Federal Credit Union. Again,
this emphasizes the fact that our group is a relevant part of the credit union. It also enables us to
work better with other departments of Empower while continuing to provide excellent service to our
members.
What does all that mean to you, as one of our all-important Select Employee Groups (SEGs)?
We can offer your employees education on financial planning, retirement planning, wealth transfer
strategies, education funding, with the goal of helping them meet their financial goals and dreams.
We have a number of presentations at our disposal which can help in this education process with
the whole purpose of helping them understand the different ways they can help themselves and their
families in their financial planning.
There are a lot of members who come to us asking for help with an inheritance, assistance with their
retirement accounts that they hold individually (e.g. IRAs), passing-on assets to their heirs, advice on
investment accounts they hold at other firms and so on. When asked, we sit down with the member
in a private setting and assess what they want and need, then give guidance as to what would be the
most prudent and beneficial direction they should take with their investments.
After all, we have many years of experience in giving advice to individuals and their families with what
they should be doing with their hard-earned money. These members find that we do what is best for
them while offering the kind of first-class service that they are used to at Empower Federal Credit
Union.

Beverly has over 25 years of sales and marketing experience in the
Western New York area. She has maintained many client relationships
over the years, particularly with several Buffalo area Chambers of
Commerce. She has also served on the board of
