It is estimated that over 70% of the trucks on
the road have tandem axles that are
misaligned as show above. to keep the truck
going straight, the turning force of the
tandem must be offset by turning the front
wheels in the opposite direction. This causes
all ten wheels to "scrub".
With Hunter's Total Alignment system, all
wheels are aligned to a common centerline.
One of the drive axles is set first, then the
other axles are set parallel to it. As a result,
all the wheels are parallel.

The same principle applies to trailer axles
too. when that is done, all 18 wheels are as
parallel as possible for absolute minimum
rolling resistance.
