SPANISH PARTRIDGE SHOOTING
Las Ahijaderas
Situated in the province of Castille Leon, the driven partridge shooting at Las Ahijaderas
offers exceptional quality & value – with the advantage of a season that runs from
September through to late April.
The topography is ideally suited to show challenging and varied partridge. The land is not
the classic flat arable land of La Mancha but wooded hills, steep banks and deep gullies. The
shoot and lodge are located about thirty minutes from the beautiful city of Salamanca.
This shoot has been developed over the past 20 years with the UK market very much in
mind and with over 30 main drives, it shows a fantastic mix of birds with drives to suit
every team and certainly high and challenging birds to test the best.
The Lodge
The lodge is private to the group during their stay. It is fully staffed at all 7mes, set in a lovely loca7on on the Family estate, they are one of the oldest and most famous Families in Spain for breeding bulls for the ring. All the birds are recorded by your Secretario – so that the Guns can be invoiced individually if they wish. This also means guests can set their own personal limit and costs of any overage, the bag need not be shared by the team. Only the birds recorded by your Secretario are paid for, so any addi7onal birds that are retrieved by the dogs etc are not charged to the team. Costs

Monterias
The Monteria is the classic Spanish driven big game hunt. Where the boar, deer and mouflon sheep are driven towards the waiting sportsmen, by
beaters and packs of Spanish hunting dogs (Podencos and Mastifs) which are specifically bred for this type of hunting. This style of hunting is unique to
Spain and is a truly exhilarating experience with the shouts and horns of the hounds’ men, the baying from the packs of hounds and the sudden sight of
the game.
The Rifles are spread out in safe vantage points around the chosen area. This is usually many hundreds of acres of wild unspoilt countryside. Once the hounds are released it is possible to track the movement of the game by the hound’s movements and change in their song. Often you will
hear game very close but only see it at the very last moment which all adds to the excitement and adrenalin of the day. At the end of the day, a game
parade is prepared before returning to the lodge for drinks and a celebration dinner with plenty of time to relax and talk over your day.
We can offer a day of Monteria and a day of partridge shooting, or if you like, one or two days of Monteria.
The price for the Monterias will be a closed price dependent on numbers of animals. Please contact E.J. Churchill Sporting Agency to discuss these
options or if you prefer just driven boar this can also be arranged.
