Mr. Brakeland was interested in the methods that BERC utilizes to disseminate environmental awareness to small businesses, and also how the Sustainable Business Program provides positive recognition for businesses who take voluntary action to reduce pollution. He intends to promote similar compliance assis- Jean-Francois Brakeland tance mechanisms among EU member nations. In addition to BERC, he also visited the California Environmental Protection Agency.
