The Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home has proudly served the families in Chesterfield County and the surrounding area with dignified and friendly service for over 70 years. The history of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home dates back to 1942, when Rudolph J. Hursey established the Hursey Funeral Home on Main Street in Chesterfield. Tom Miller, who worked at Hursey Funeral Home and Don Rivers established Miller-Rivers Funeral Home in 1959 after the death of Mr. Hursey. In l971, at age 14, Phillip Caulder began his funeral service career with Miller-Rivers. When Tom and Don retired on June 30, 1988, Phillip and his wife, Yetive, purchased Miller-Rivers and continued the tradition on July 1, 1988 with Miller-Rivers-Caulder. Brent Taylor joined Miller-Rivers-Caulder in 2004 and his wife, Brooke, joined the staff in 2013. Brent and Brooke will continue the legacy of tradition and trust on July 1, 2016 when they assume ownership of Miller-Rivers-Caulder. The staff of Miller-Rivers-Caulder thanks Phillip and Yetive for their dedicated years of service and looks forward to working with Phillip on a part-time basis. 318 E.
