Say What!!!
40% of our ordinary garbage is made up of kitchen and garden waste!
It is possible to drink water that was present during the time of the dinosaurs!
Every Sunday, the United States wastes nearly 90% of the recyclable newspapers.
This wastes about 500,000 trees!
Each of us generates on average 4.4 pounds of waste per day per person!
One tree can filter up to 60 pounds of pollutants from the air each year!
Yeah!

YOUR BIKE AND RIDE! AT HUDSON TMA STRIDE & RIDE
Stride Ride!
Smart kids know that when it comes to getting around, walking or biking is
much better for our environment than driving. Riding your bicycle to the
park or walking to school won’t cause any pollution at all. Taking those same
trips in a car can send harmful pollutants into our atmosphere.
So where do all the cool kids go to show off some of their skills and learn
more about the benefits of walking and biking? The “2009 Hudson TMA
Stride and Ride,” a free family event hosted by the Hudson Transportation
Management Association on Saturday, June 3rd from 10am to 3pm in
Braddock Park, North Bergen.
There will be walking races, free entertainment, raffles and giveaways. Kids
ages 3 to 5 can participate in a “Bike Rodeo,” a junior obstacle course teaching
safe cycling skills. Parents and family members can also enjoy hands on
training with their children ages 4 and up in our “Teach Your Child to Ride”
activity.
So bring your own bicycle and let your
parents know that tricycle and strollers
are welcome too. We’ll see you there!
Enter from 85th St. and Bergenline Avenue and see us in the parking lot across from the picnic
tables. (Rain date: June ??) For more information on the 2009 Stride & Ride event, please call
the Hudson TMA at 201-792-2825 or visit www.hudsontma.org
