We are excited to share what we feel is our strongest offering ever on September 28th. We are able to offer several cows from the heart of the herd,
largely due to the number of embryos we have implanted this year. Some
of these females have already produced sons that are out working in
commercial and purebred herds. These young cows are incredible herd
building blocks so we have retained the right to one flush on a few at
the buyer’s convenience. We are also offering flushes on five proven
cows .They are as strong as any to pass through an “All That Glitters
Sale” whether it be the breed legend Diamond Helena Dottie 12H, the
foundation cow Diamond Amanda Maid 12A, or numerous others
that are now influencing herds throughout North America, Australia
and Great Britain. Be sure to check out the 2 proven herd sires and 3
herd bull prospects as well as some fancy heifer calves.
This year we again have guest consignments from Alta Cedar, Circle
M, Newbiggon, Northern and Gordon Turner Farms, friends and family
that have great cattle for you to choose from. We feel this offering will fit
into many programs. They are sound and functional. Years of selection
have gone into them, we are not just selling cattle, we are selling time….
and that is something no one has enough of.

payable the day of sale and the balance at completion of flush.

The Clare Family
Cactus Flat Clare 11C came from Ralph
Peterson, Cactus Flat Shorthorns. She was
a deep bodied heifer by Broome Quality.
Besides producing several fine replacement females Clare produced the 1999
Agribition Grand Champion bull Frimley
Captain Jim 38J, a bull that went on to be
a top sire in the Glenford herd. In Scotland, Tofts Shorthorns produced the herd
bull Tofts Captain X698 and Tofts Commander X679. The two main replacement
daughters here were Frimley Kitty Clare
43K and Frimley Nyla Clare 14N. Like the
Baroness family the Clares also trace back
to one of the first cows imported to
Canada, Beauty (30).
2W is from the heart of the herd and is
one of the best females to leave here. By
Northern Legend 3N she is at the start of
her breeding career. She has produced a
top bull, Diamond Zowzer 25Z, sold to
Scott Woodruff for use on his commercial
Angus females. This year she has a Glenford Captain 39X heifer calf that is one of
the best from this calf crop that we retain.
Full possession sells in 2W but we retain
the right to one flush in this great female.
We also retain a full sister and her dam’s
full sister and 43K.

10G. She has earned her way into our donor program and so we offer a flush to be done

We are really pleased with the Glenford Captain 39X calves. The bulls by him were well
received at our spring bull sales. This calf should sire some great replacement females as
well as herd bull prospects. With his dam still producing at 13 he should also add
longevity which is an important economic trait.

A red horned daughter of Diamond Prophecy 21P she is out of the good producing Frimley
Nyla Clare 14N. Her maternal brother Frimley Titan Rising 34T was used at the Diamond.
Zena Clare 53Z’s full sister is owned by Joe Sonderman, Fairview Shorthorns, Columbus,
Nebraska.
Here is an opportunity to get a
proven herd bull. He was first used
in the Saskvalley herd before selling to Gordon Turner Farms in the
Who’s Your Daddy Bull Sale. His
use at Gordon Turner Farms is now
limited as both his sire Saskvalley
Sequel 59S and a son Saskvalley
Instigator 250X have seen service
there. Sons of Sequel’s full brother
the noted Sakvalley Ramrod 155R
are also seeing service in the herd.
Volcano had an 84 lb. birth weight
, a Calving Ease EPD of +6.2 in the
top 3% of the breed, a Calving
Ease $ of +33.7 in the top 10% of
the breed. His dam is by Saskvally

The Maid Family
This cow family was founded with
Winalot Mona Lisa a daughter of Millvale Jubilation and out of Winalot Mona
Maid. They are a prolific easy keeping
cow family that have produced top females and bulls used across North America and Great Britain. We flushed
Winalot Mona Lisa when she was 16
and have one ET daughter in the herd.
As well her granddaughter Diamond
Amanda Maid 12A was flushed by ourselves and QDM and Moores in Illinois.
We have embryos implanted this year
out of several of our Maids allowing us
to share some great representatives of
this family.
This is a top ET daughter of Northern Legend 3N and Diamond Exquisitely Maid
34E. She has a daughter at Katharina
Thiessen’s Prairie Acre Shorthorns in
Manitoba. We are retaining a top two
year old daughter that is raising an excellent bull calf this year. As well we retain 8T’s top heifer calf both by Prophecy
21P.
Another good daughter by
Prophecy 21P sells as lot 8.
We are able to part with this cow as a
feature lot since we have more full sib
embryo’s and have implanted some 34E
embryo’s this year.

retaining two full sisters. Diamond Prophecy 21P was still working this summer at nine
years of age at Y Lazy Y Shorthorns. 16Z combines all our main bloodlines, Diamond
Captain Mark 27C, Northern Legend 3N, Diamond Prophecy 21P and Gafa Captain

This is a daughter of Diamond Lizzie Maid 6L, 6L is still in the herd at 12 years of age. Her
paternal granddam is also still in the herd at 10. 32X is raising a good Glenford Captain
39X bull calf heading to our bull pen. We are retaining her dam and two maternal sisters.

The Maid family has become one of the
most predominant at Diamond Shorthorns over the years. Many herd bulls
have come from this family including Diamond Fortune sold in the first “All That
Glitters Sale” to John Gibb, Glenisla
Shorthorns, Scotland. Fortune is still
showing up in successful Scottish pedigrees today. Be sure to check out lot 25,
Diamond Winalot 37W a successful
herd bull at Northern Shorthorns from
the Maid family. 37W has several top
bred heifers in the sale as well.
This roan polled heifer has been a
standout since birth. She is moderate
framed, deep bodied with eye appeal.
She is sired by the birth weight trait
leader Diamond Prophecy 21P and out
of the Northern Legend 3N daughter,
Diamond Tavern Maid 18T. 60Z has a
CE of +3.6 BW (top 10%) BW of 0.0
(top 15%).18T is full sister to ACC Legend 1U a herd bull at Monty Thomson’s
Hatfield Shorthorns. 3U is the sire of
among others Hatfield Governor 17X.
Newbiggon is reducing their numbers
so offer two good daughters of the Tavern Maid cow. At Diamond this year we
have put embryos in that will be full sibs
to Tavern’s dam Diamond Nicely Maid
64N and Diamond Exquisitely Maid
34E.

A white polled daughter of breed legend Mandalong Super Flag a bull imported by Gary
and Terry Carter, Newbiggon Shorthorns in 1972. One of the most influential bulls in North
America Flag is still siring offspring relevant in the industry today. The dam of 18Y is a

sire. Solid red polled and light birth weight he should work on many bloodlines..

The Dottie Family
The Dottie’s trace back in the maternal line to the
foundation cow Clipper by Billy (3151) in Amos
Cruicskshank’s Sittyton herd in Scotland. The Clipper
family was influential around the world. Recently the
Dottie’s have returned to Scotland with
daughters of Diamond Dottie 55G at Smallburn
Farms.
We have had many enquiries on the Dottie family
and feel that Frimley Topaz Dottie 59T will make a
great donor. She would be able to be mated to
many different sire options. She has a good producing daughter at Hatfield Shorthorns in Manitoba,
Frimley Wanda Dottie 51W. Another daughter ACC
Dottie 11Z is now owned by Shane and Erin Sawley, Melville, SK. ACC Dottie 11Z was bred at Gary
and Kim Anwender’s where Topaz has been part of
a group of Diamond cows that they have been leasing. We could not have asked for better partners
and the ACC herd is producing some great shorthorns. Topaz is a maternal sister to Frimley Rene Dottie 72Z breeding well at Horseshoe Creek .
Another maternal sister of 59T, Frimley Melody Dottie 22M was in The Butterfield herd where she produced Butterfield Tzouhlem 10T herd bull Lazy HJ
Shorthorns. Butterfield Dotty 6S now at Remount
Ranch, Chaplin, SK but with daughters in Ontario
and Quebec from her time at Lednura Farms, QC.
We also had Butterfield Dottie 7P the dam of Lot 16.

The Baroness Family
In the 1980 Newbiggon dispersal Olive Aldridge
purchased the white heifer Newbiggon Julie M. Her
dam was Melbros Silver Baroness 2nd a daughter
of Ball Dee Silver Baroness by Ball Dee Silver
Carona and out of Baroness 3rd. Baroness 3rd was
the foundation dam of the Baroness family in the
BallDee herd. Baroness 3rd was born in 1959 and
at 13 years of age in 1970 she produced the bull
Miami Baron 20B. (See lot 12) Newbiggon Julie M
produced three daughters OA Diamond Julies
Baroness 34W, OA Diamond Julies Baroness 32X,
and OA Diamond Julie Baroness 29Z that went on
to produce many brood matrons for Diamond Shorthorns and our customers. They are spread from Alberta to Quebec to Texas. The Baroness family
traces back to one of the first cows imported to
Canada, Beauty (30). This cow was one of the most
prolific in the herd book.
Diamond Baroness 31L is a great cow that is returning to the Diamond herd this fall after an amazing
career at Anwenders. We feel with her production
record she needs to be flushed in 2014. She is the
dam of ACC General 4U, a successful herd bull at
ACC. She also has three daughters in the ACC
herd by Star P Matrix 4N and Northern Legend
3N. After she calves in the spring to Northern Legend 3N she will be available to flush. If the buyer
chooses we will provide Northern Legend 3N
semen to produce full sibs to ACC General 4U.
Flush is to take place spring of 2014. Buyer may

The original Butterfly was imported to
Canada from Cates Farms by Lazy HJ
Stock Farm, Mannvile, AB. A daughter
was sold to Glory Jay and in 1995 Orv
and Linda Norstrom purchased their first
shorthorn Glory-Jay Eloquent Butterfly 1E.
Butterfly 1E’s first daughters were by
River Ridge Elite 38E making them paternal sisters to Diamond Helena Dottie
12H. Elite Butterfly 3G produced Northern Legend 3N a bull that has had a big
influence at Diamond Shorthorns. Northern Legend 3N is also seeing service at
Belmore Shorthorns in Australian where
he is a trait leader for short gestation as
well as a weaning weight trait leader. As
you go through the Northern lots you will
see the influence the Butterfly family has
had in their program.

This is an easy fleshing, long bodied heifer calf. She comes from a strong line of productive females on her Dam’s side. Her 10 year old mother, Prairie Pride Crackle 1N, is still in our herd,

Farms, Diamond Xplosion 23X. This calf is out of a good young cow Jacqueline purchased
from the Lazy HJ herd of Doug and Karen Hess, Mannville, AB. The Jacqueline’s have
been a top producticing family at Lazy HJ.

The Minnie Family
The Minnie family came to the Diamond
by way of cows we had on shares with
Carol Kettlewell, Emerald Shorthorns.
The foundation cow was Butterfield
Minnie 4T a deep bodied easy fleshing
cow. The Minnie’s produced Emerald
Bigtime 49B a herd bull and at Gene
Foats and also used AI. Bigtime sired
the champion all breeds heifer and later
great brood cow, Alta Cedar Silver
Maisie 125G. Also the Calgary Stampede Grand Champion female Emerald
Minus Forty 9Y. The Minnies in the
herd today are mostly descendants of
Emerald Miriam 44A through Diamond
Minnie Kaziah 40K a Gafa Captain
Macbest 6G daughter. We used as son
of 40K last year, Diamond Yardstick
29Y.
One of the strongest daughters of Diamond Prophecy 21P and he has produced some good ones. Jaimie retains
a full sister, her dam 11S and another
full sister of 11S. Diamond Minnie Zara

21Z are Jaimie and my two favorites,

Pethybridge in 1969 and founded a family
at Frimley and Diamond Shorthorns that
has been unsurpassed. There are Susan
descendants producing across North
America and Great Britain. It would take
several pages to list all the Susan’s but not
only have they produced top brood cows
but herd bulls like Diamond Rising Legend
1R or Saskvalley Tandem 34T at Creekside
are a couple of examples.

Diamond Nicola Susan 23N. We are retaining a full sister to 21Zin the herd. Diamond Nicola Susan 23N is bred back for
a natural calf in 2014 and we should also

were sent to Dean Anderson, Smallburn

and Research 2009 intake of sires. As well he has been used in Belmore Shorthorns,
Naracoorte, SA AI breeding program. A son, Belmore Patriach F102 is now being used

service England and Scotland. Legend has sons and daughters producing across North

Diamond Prophecy 21P was used by Northern Shorthorns for four seasons. When we
were given the opportunity to purchase Prophecy 21P we jumped at it. We have found
Prophecy to consistently produce light birthweight calves without compromising performance. Our top young females are sired by Prophecy. After seeing service at Diamond for
four seasons Prophecy went to Y Lazy Y Shorthorns in Montana spring 2013.

Glenford Captain 39X was the last purchase of Billie Stephenson. 39X truly impressed
everyone who had seen him with his soundness, growth, depth and most importantly his
