But while I’m at it! I hear on the grape vine that a few people have expressed disappointment that there hasn’t been a Goju no Seimei issue for a while. Let me say that I have been a little disappointed as well! Disappointed that no one has made the effort to provide anything in the way of IGK related news to add to the journal that is. Remember that this is a voluntary effort and to be a success relies on more than one person contributing. It is easy enough to fill up the pages with junk but that is not what it is supposed to be about. How about a little help? My very best regards, Page 1 NEWS FROM ZENGOUSHUU SHIBUCHO Registration details will be available as soon as the venue booking is confirmed Page 2 GRADING RESULTS Congratulations to the following members on their recent promotions. In fct the Byodo-in Temple is located near Kaneohe, in Hanhi’s home state of Hawaii. It is a scale replica of a temple in Uji Japan built over 900 years ago. It’s beautiful architecture , the graceful gardens and the backdrop of the Koolau Ridge will leave the visitor with a spirit of inner peace and serenity. What a wonderful place to do some training? The bottom image is a montage of three men that had an enormous impact on the development of Goju-ryu karate. From left to right, the man believed to be the mysterious Xie Chongxian (Liu Liu Ko) and Higashionna Kanryo’s principal teacher in China, in the middle Higashionna sensei, Miyagi Chojun’s principal teacher on Okinawa and on the right Wu Xianhui (Go Ken Ki) Miyagi sensei’s close friend and White Crane master. The middle image shows Miyagi sensei overseeing training in the early days of Goju-ryu karate Page 4
