Golf Shop News
One of the best times to work on your golf swing is during the winter
months. With the amount of daylight shortened our time to get out on
the course is limited. This makes it a perfect time to iron out any flaws
in our golf game. Stop by the Pro Shop to book a lesson with one our
teaching professionals.
Austin Tip of the Month
The most prevalent mistake golfers make during the colder months of
the year is not playing enough club. With temperatures dipping down
into the 50’s and 40’s golf balls will not travel as far and roll out will be
shorter. Know your winter distances and check them regularly on the
driving range with a range finder on temperatures similar to what you
will be playing in.
Please contact the Golf Shop for any weather delays.
Follow us on Facebook and Twitter, this is where you can find all the
up to date BridgeMill announcements. Make sure to book your tee time
to get out and enjoy this beautiful course. There are many ways to
reserve your spot, either call the golf shop (770-345-5500, ext. 1); go
online to www.bridgemillathleticclub.com, or use our mobile app from
the app store, just search for “want tee times”
Rules Corner Question
What, if any, is the penalty for accidentally
moving your ball marker while replacing your
ball on the green?
See page 14 for the answer.
Please call the Golf Shop at70-345-5500, ext. 1.
BridgeMill Golf Academy
“Our
Goal is to Help You Enjoy Your Golf More”
Tips From The Pro
Technology Can Help Your Game
There has never been a better time in the history of golf to really
understand what is going on in your swing and then finding a way to
improve it. Tools like TrackMan which is Doppler radar device that
tracks the golf ball and tells us exactly what the club is doing and why
your golf ball goes where it goes. 3D diagnostic tools like K-Vest that
measures how your body is moving. Pressure plates like SAM Balance
Lab and BodiTrak that measure weight shift.
High speed video cameras like the Casio EX-F1 help give a clearer
picture of your swing and golf club. Putting technology like the SAM
PuttLab that pinpoints what you do well and what you don’t do so well
in your putting stroke. What is also really nice about all these tools is
that most of them also provide ways to train and improve what you do.
As you read this you may be asking yourself “I wonder where I can find
these things”? Well right here at BridgeMill of course! : )

The BridgeMill S1NGLE SOURCE Junior Golf Awards banquet was a fantastic ending to a great season. The

Several awards were handed out during the banquet.
The following juniors won their divisions of the
McGrory Cup (thank you Molly McGrory of RE/MAX):

to Connor Macmillan. Congratulations to all juniors on a great season!
The Liebman Scholarship award is given to a high school student that has improved their golf game, but also
is a great role model off the golf course as well.
It is based on grades, leadership abilities, volunteer
services and integrity. Barney Liebman set up this scholarship in honor of his late brother. Thank you Mr.
Liebman for your generosity. This is the award that all junior high school golfers strive to win. This 2015
Ed Liebman Scholarship was awarded to Miles Ruff. Miles is a senior of Cherokee High School. He is
currently being recruited to play golf in Virginia and several Georgia colleges. He is a Youth Cherokee
Leadership graduate. His golf game has improved tremendously in the last year. He won the BridgeMill
Junior Golf Championship this year by shooting an even par round on the final day. He works in the junior
golf academy and is active in his church. Congratulations to Miles Ruff on earning the 2015 Ed Liebman

No penalty. Rule 20-1 says “If a ball or ball-marker is accidentally moved in the process of lifting the
ball under a Rule or marking its position, the ball or ball-marker must be replaced. There is no
penalty, provided the movement of the ball or ball-marker is directly related attributable to the specific act of marking the position of or lifting the ball. Otherwise, the player incurs a penalty of one
stroke under this Rule or Rule 18-2a.”

Our Junior Program at BridgeMill is designed to meet the needs of all our
junior players from 5 years of age and up; from recreational to advanced
tournament players. The goal of our program is to instill in our youth a love
for the game of tennis. We strive to develop self-motivated young people
who want to practice and then practice some more. We encourage and
foster a healthy, active lifestyle that they can carry with them throughout their
lives. All of our teaching professionals have a passion for the game of tennis
and they are here to ignite this passion in your child!
We have a complete program that is divided into different categories
based on ability and age. The different categories are listed below. All
programs focus on proper stroke development, footwork, fitness,
strategy and mental toughness in an age and level appropriate manner.
Contact Pat Perry at [email protected] specific information on the
program.
Fall Excel Future Stars – 5 – 12 years
Juniors with little or no tennis experience will learn the fundamentals of
tennis including basic stroke technique using age appropriate balls and
equipment to help them succeed quickly. Groups are separated by age
and are held during after school hours. The class schedule is available
in the Tennis Pro Shop.
Fall Excel Academy 8 – 17 years
These groups are for juniors with some experience all the way up to
advanced players. Players are divided by ability level and age within
each category. Players should have a desire to reach the next level of
their game. All groups include high intensity tennis drills focusing on
proper strokes, footwork, fitness, strategy and mental toughness.
Students work and train hard but also have fun! These groups are held
throughout the school year. Players can drill one or two days a week.

with various Masters in Beijing, Shanghai, Canton and Hong Kong. In
1987 he moved to New York City to study with Grandmaster William
C.C. Chen (Master Chen was named one of the top 50 most influential
martial artists of all time by Kung Fu magazine). Mr. Cook has trained
with Master Chen for 14 years. He is the only certified teacher
of Master Chen's living in Georgia.
Additionally, for the past six years Mr. Cook has trained with Dr. P. S.
Tao of Taiwan. Dr. Tao was a senior student of the late Grandmaster
Cheng Man-Ching. Mr. Cook has also studied extensively with
Madame Simmone Kuo in San Francisco, wife of the Grandmaster
Lien-Ying Kuo. In 1999 Madame Kuo gave Mr. Cook permission to
teach Tai Chi Chuan. Also, in 1999, Mr. Cook began studying Chen
style Tai Chi with Master Yang Yang who was Pushing Hands
champion of Shanghai China for three years running. Mr. Cook
continues to study with internationally known Tai Chi Masters like
Liang Shou-Yu, Master Waysun Liao and Master Weylun Wang.

INTRODUCTORY SPECIAL
3 hours of the Therapy of your choice: Only $ 49.00
Biomat
Is a medical grade infrared heating mat used in healing practices all over the world. The BioMat is painless
treatment that combines the healing qualities of amethyst, far infrared rays and negative ions to create a
passive, but powerful healing tool. It is a medical-grade infrared heating mat used in healing practices all
over the world. Unlike an electric blanket, the pad does not get hot when it is turned on. However, if you lie
down on it, it warms the inside of your body and the part of the pad making contact with your skin gets
warm. When any part of the pad gets higher than
the selected temperature, the sheet's current is cut
off by thermal sensors distributed throughout the
pad. Far infrared rays penetrate 6 inches into the
body. Therefore, these rays not only benefit the
muscles on the surface of the body, but all cells
including blood vessels, lymph glands, and nerves
in the deepest parts of our body.
CYMA
Sound therapy that helps restore the body to optimal health,
balance and function. Uses frequencies and sound waves to heal
your body emotionally and physically. CYMA relieves stress,
relieves aches and pains, heals Peripheral Artery Disease and
adds energy to your body! Low Level Laser Therapy Our painless
and harmless laser treatments will modulate arthritis, neck pain,
back pain, joint pain, trouble with your nervous system and speed
healing Cyma Technologies instruments are the culmination of
over 50 years of research and development. Cyma Technologies
has developed unique and internationally patented instruments
that deliver precise combinations of frequencies associated with
healthy tissue and organ systems.
These sound waves help to normalize imbalances and synchronize the cell’s frequency back to its natural
healthy state of vibrational resonance. Sound therapies of many variations are becoming more widely
accepted every day. Music therapy, for example, is commonly used for reducing stress, for pain
management, and in delivery and operating rooms as well as to treat the elderly, the mentally challenged,
and those with special learning needs and emotional issues. Ultrasound is another example. Practitioners now
prescribed ultrasound to diagnose tumors, clean wounds, pulverize kidney stones and alleviate pain and sore
muscles and backs.

P.E.M.F. Tensegrity
Delivers radiation free, non-thermal
magnetic pulse into the cells, stimulating
healing, to allow repair of damaged and
diseased tissue. The benefits to massage
treatments vary and are beneficial for many
chronic conditions including low back pain,
arthritis and bursitis. PEMF Tensegrity
stands for (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field)
Relax, renew and improve your health state
with PEMF Tensegrity. PEMF Tensegrity
rebuilds your old cells and releases dead
tissue in your body. The therapy will help
heal your body while you are comfortable
and relaxed.
Tensegrity is also known as MG 33 (Magna Charge) or (PEMF). The therapy delivers a radiation free,
non-thermal magnetic pulse into the cells, the stimulating healing allowing repair if damaged diseased tissue.
Through the natural process of aging, cells lose their ability to maintain full charge, resulting in declining
health. With PEMF Tensegrity your health will be restored to its highest state.

BridgeMill Sixes Service League
Is this the year you are going to join the Bridge Mill Sixes Service League? We are a group of women from age 30 to
70+ who are interested in helping our neighbors and our Community. Last year we provided community service from
infants through seniors. From our Mock Baby Shower where we filled 6 overflowing Diaper bags for mothers bringing
home new babies from the hospital to providing coats, hats, mittens, scarves, sweat pants, socks, underwear, school
supplies, snacks, summer lunches and our involvement with Give A Kid A Chance for Elementary and Middle School
children to providing Scholarships to Senior High School Students based on their service to the community to donating
funds to various organizations in Cherokee County to Christmas Caroling at Cameron Assisted Living Center in Canton.
You may be asking yourself “How can I afford to do that?” We have fundraiser events from our Spring Fling to our
Classic Car Show to Golf Fore Charity and 5K. To become a member it only costs $30.00 per year. We typically meet
the third Thursday of each month 7:00pm at the Terrace. Watch each month for our posted signs at all entrances to
Bridge Mill, if the weather is bad or the children are on vacation, the week may be adjusted.
Maybe you are looking for a way to meet new women in the community. We not only work but we also enjoy sharing
friendships by going out to eat lunch or dinner once a month, or joining book clubs or playing bunco. Some of our
members have even gone on trips together. We are here if you need a shoulder to cry on or someone to celebrate the
birth of a child with or brag about your family or grandchildren. If you are interested but still have some questions,
please check out our website at bssl.org or email our new President Susan Gaines at [email protected].
Please meet the new Board for 2016:
Chairman of the Board Ruth Clark
President Susan Gaines, VP Pam Yagoda,
VP for Membership Julie Purcell,
Secretary Cheryl Karr and
Co-Treasurers Lynn Weimer &
Arleen Oppenheimer
A special thank you to our Volunteer of the Year, Marlyn Patouillet,
who was involved with the Classic Car Show, Golf Fore Charity, Jolly Jingle
Jog, Annual Food Drive, Summer Lunch Program, and our Annual Christmas
Caroling. Many thanks and well deserved on the recognition.
Thank you , Marlyn!

BridgeMill Community Association
As we begin a new year, we want to provide homeowners with a greater understanding of the many resources
available to them through both BridgeMill and Heritage Property Management. The BridgeMill website
(www.bridgemill.org) and Heritage Edge share some common features such as 24/7 access to the covenants, a
downloadable ARC form and guidelines, a copy of the monthly Newsletter, and copies of the board meeting
minutes. As you may have found when paying your dues, Heritage Edge also offers homeowners the ability to
check and print their account ledger, setup payment options, check the balance sheets of each month, obtain a
copy of the certificate of insurance, and grants them access to the homeowner directory. To access Heritage Edge,
go to www.heritageproperty.com and click on “Homeowner Sign In” in the upper right-hand corner. Next
click “Create Your Account!”. In order to complete the process you will need a Security Key, used only when
creating the account (see the FAQs below for details). Your username will be your email once you have created
the account, and your password will be anything of your choice.
As always, please reduce your speed in the neighborhood.
