P A C K A G I N G CR33 - CR34 GRAFIKSCAN 2200 GRAFIKSCAN 3000 SO F T WA R E G RA F I KSCA N P A C K A G I N G P A C K A G I N G CR33 - CR34 Colour register control system for packaging rotogravure presses T EC H N I C A L F E AT U R E S The CR33 - CR34 register control system reduces waste in all production phases: start-ups, ramp-ups, reel-changes both on electrical and mechanical shaft presses. Advanced electronic technologies and dedicated software algorithms guarantee register stability for the entire production cycle. Single optic fibre scanning head Double optic fibre scanning head Various mark lay downs and shapes can be programmed or selected from our data base, so that existing cylinder libraries can be used. The optic fibre scanning heads utilize high sensitivity RGB sensors and they automatically select the colours, allowing the detection of very light colours on any kind of substrate. Automatic mark recognition, mark auto search and mark auto centering, are performed by motorized optics that allow for a fully automatic start-up without operator intervention within a positioning error of ± 7 mm. When the register error exceeds the set threshold value an alarm and a waste command are provided. The auto-preset function, developed for electrical shaft presses, performs the cylinder phase presetting and guarantees register start-ups completely in automatic. Speed range from 7 to 1.500 m/min. Circumferential max. correction range ± 8 mm. Error sensitivity 0,01 mm. The LED light source guarantees more than 100.000 hours of life (11 years). The 1 mm wide light spot allows mark size to be reduced to 3 mm. The database for the job storage includes all the job parameter settings, such as press configuration, compensator preset, register tolerance, etc. Real time charts display the error trend and the production statistics. The system also provides an interface to a network or external users for data sharing. The system is configured for remote support through a dedicated VPN connection. P A C K A G I N G GRAFIKSCAN 2200 Print inspection and press control T EC H N I C A L F E AT U R E S GRAFIKSCAN 2200 is a system that ensures print quality control and minimizes substrate consumption during start-ups and production. Immediate identification of defects minimizes waste and guarantees the quality of production. Dedicated software and algorithms allow excellent image reproduction. The implementation of specific features and tools provides the operator with a help to allow the operator to achieve high quality production. 3CCD digital video camera has a resolution of 1.392 x 1.040 pixels (4,3 Megapixels) with field of view of 240 x 180 mm and is mounted on a motorized and presettable traverse. Optics with 16X magnification has a motorized and presettable zoom, focus and iris. The lighting by white LED ensures a quality and a distribution of light which is free from image degradation even on metalized substrates. The life of this components is practically unlimited. The entire print repeat is continuously inspected with resolution and speed set out by the operator. It is possible to store up to 30 positions with different magnification, iris and focus settings to allow the operator to inspect critical areas in the image. “SPLIT IMAGE” function allows the real time print image to be compared with the stored master on a single screen. The Quick-Zoom function allows instantaneous detail magnification with the single push of a button. The GRAFIKSCAN 2200 capabilities can be augmented by additional software and features (interactive register©, bar code verification, Δ colour monitoring) to increase the control of printing. The GRAFIKSCAN 2200 can be integrated with the 100% inspection system GRAFIKSCAN 3000. The system is configured for remote support through a dedicated VPN connection. P A C K A G I N G GRAFIKSCAN 3000 100% Inspection system T EC H N I C A L F E AT U R E S GRAFIKSCAN 3000 is a system for the 100% inspection of the printed web, guaranteeing total control during the printing process by automatically surveying and cataloguing all defects in order to provide a real-time analysis of the progress of production up to 600 m/min. GRAFIKSCAN 3000, having a modular architecture, can be integrated with the GRAFIKSCAN 2200. The combination of the different technologies linked to imageprocessing algorithms provides a complete and simple instrument for operator support to control any printing process: gravure, flexographic and offset. The system is composed of one or more linear colour cameras, designed to perform at production speeds exceeding 600 m/min while maintaining perfect image resolution. The white LED lighting ensures a quality and a distribution of light without any image degradation even on metalized substrates. The life of this component is over 100.000 hours (11 years). The system is configured for remote support through a dedicated VPN connection. “DEFECT CONTROL” Defects are instantly highlighted on the screen with relevant cataloguing according to the following types: register, streaking, colour variation, spots and hazing. Each class of defect can be assigned a separate alarm threshold. A visual and/or acoustic alarm warns the operator when the threshold has been exceeded and the screen displays the detected defect. By simply pressing a button the sample image can be superimposed to the defect image for an easy comparison. A dedicated algorithm compensates for web shift and stretch. “WIDE SCREEN” Real-time display of the entire print repeat on 30” super HD monitors. The display of each complete repeat enables the operator to instantly analyse the print conditions of the entire web and adjust for any problems (skew, differences in pressure, etc.). “CLICK & VIEW” This function combines the 30” wide screen and the area camera with traverse and motorized zoom. Detailed analysis of any part of the repeat can be instantly viewed on the 19” operator interface by clicking the cursor in the desired location on the full repeat display. This interface ensures accurate viewing of the desired field of view. P A C K A G I N G OPTIONAL SOFTWARE GRAFIKSCAN The tools for the better print monitoring Interactive Register (Click & Drag©) It is an innovative function that allows to the operator, using the TOUCH SCREEN interface, to interact directly with the image in order to control the register motors. Thanks to this innovation, the systems GRAFIKSCAN 2200 and GRAFIKSCAN 3000 can set precise register even with the press stopped. Press&Go The software allows drastic reduction of waste at the start-up in CI flexo presses. The function, reading some special reference marks and by means of powerful software algorithms specially designed, is able to adjust the printing pressures and the colour register in a very short time, so ensuring a huge waste reduction. Barcode Monitoring Δ Colour Monitoring Statistical Defect Detection The GRAFIKSCAN 2200 system is able to detect all typical print defects which are sorted by category. The operator can individually adjust the sensitivity of defect thresholds to ensure the maximum quality control. Barcode Monitoring This software verifies the BARCODES in-line, ensuring rapid intervention by the operator when any of the barcode specifications are out of standard tolerances. Colour Monitoring This function allows to the user to compare the stored standard CIEL*a*b* values with values acquired in real time. The comparison is made continuously throughout the duration of the production, ensuring operator intervention before reaching nonacceptable levels that could compromise the image. Quality Report The software generates a report containing all the information relevant to the production (defects, press stops, reel splices,…). The collected information can be visualized in statistic diagram both for jobs and rolls. Click & Drag© Function Statistical Defect Detection Waste Management By reading the reports generated by the defects control systems, a special software stops the slitter rewinder accordingly.
