Dear Doctor:
We’re pleased to introduce Footmaxx’s new catalog, your 2014 guide to custom orthotics, footwear,
and braces.
Footmaxx takes great pride in our individually crafted products, made of a variety of the highest quality
materials to seamlessly support patients with an array of health challenges. There are many ways to order—
choose which is most convenient for you: we gladly accept plaster casts, slipper socks, dynamic scans and
foam boxes to create your patients’ custom orthotics. Our new environmentally friendly SmartJet machine
empowers our technicians to create orthotics with even greater precision than before, as does our state-ofthe-art Milling Machines (see more on page 5).
Footmaxx is known for its exceptional customer service, the best in the business, I am proud to say, and we
are eager to prove it to you. If there’s anything Footmaxx can do to help your practice, we are just a phone
call away. My team and I are committed to providing Doctors like you with everything you need to serve
patients with excellence.
Thank you for your continued support of Footmaxx. We’re proud to be your partner.

Technology
Introducing the Footmaxx SmartJet
An Investment in your Practice
The brand-new Footmaxx SmartJet uses clean water
technology for exceptional finishing precision and
accuracy, without introducing a single chemical or
pollutant into our fragile ecosystem. The tool also
eliminates the need to perform a finishing grind on the
orthotic, eliminating any room for human error. While the
SmartJet is strong enough to slice through steel, it is also
robust with safety features, meaning our highly trained
Footmaxx technicians can harness its power without
concern for personal safety.
Custom Milling Machines
Our state-of-the-art milling machines use sophisticated
programs to fabricate a custom module from a
polypropylene block with unparalleled accuracy.

Custom Orthotics
Custom Orthotics
Specifically Designed for your Feet
Footmaxx custom orthotics are designed to provide
maximum foot control by combining four layers (top
cover, cushioning, module and bottom reinforcement)
with accommodations to create the best orthotic for each
patient. They offer excellent motion control without added
bulk or discomfort.
Footmaxx orthotics are handcrafted for people who
require better foot function in everyday activities from
work to play. They are firm enough to provide control, yet
flexible enough to offer all-day comfort.

Accommodations
Arch Fill
The soft or firm materials used
provide a solid support under
the arch area.
Firm: recommended for heavier patients or patients with severe
over-pronation or posterior tibial tendonitis.
Forefoot Extension
Cushions the metatarsal and
forefoot areas of the foot. Can be
used for patients with metatarsalgia
or forefoot lesions.
Soft: recommended for patients with significant over-pronation.
Arch Strip
The soft or firm materials used
provide medial or lateral support
in the arch area.
Firm: recommended for heavier
patients, patients with severe over-pronation, or flexible,
pronated feet.
Gait Plate
Causes the forefoot shoe break to
occur at an angle that causes proper
shoe twist. Used for very young
children (three to eight years old,
under 100 lbs) needing correction to
cause in-toeing or out-toeing.
Soft: recommended for patients with moderate over-pronation.
12
Fifth-Ray Cut Out
Offloads the fifth metatarsal head
and provides more room in the
shoe. Used for patients with pain
or calluses.
Heel Cushion
Cushions the heel for patients
exhibiting heel pain due to
conditions such as heel spurs or
Sever’s disease.
First-Ray Cut Out
Allows the first metatarsal head
to plantarflex and provides more
room in the shoe. Used for patients
with restricted motion of the first
metatarsal joint. Can also be used
for patients with sesamoiditis and hallux valgus.
Heel Lift
Provides a vertical lift to
the heel for propulsive
power and is used for patients
with Achilles tendonitis or
leg-length discrepancies.
Heelmaxx™
Pads and offloads the central
portion of the calcaneus. Used
in patients with heel pain due to
conditions such as plantar fasciitis,
heel spurs or Sever’s disease.
Met Bar
Offloads the metatarsal
heads distal to the placement
of the met bar. Recommended
for patients with calluses or other
lesions on the metatarsal heads
or for patients with metatarsalgia.
1.800.779.3668
Met Pad
Spreads and offloads the metatarsal
head distal to where the pad is
placed. Used for patients with
calluses, lesions, dropped metatarsal
heads or metatarsalgia.
Horseshoe Pad
Offloads the central area
of the plantar surface of
the heel.
Used in patients with
conditions such as plantar
fasciitis, heel spurs or
Sever’s disease.
Morton’s Extension
Elevates and supports the
first metatarsal head and
first toe. Used for patients
with Morton’s toe or
limited motion of the first
metatarsal joint.
Lesion Accommodation
Offloads a specific area on the plantar
surface of the foot when patients have
lesions or calluses.
Neuroma Pad
Spreads two metatarsal heads
in order to relieve a pinched
intermetatarsal nerve. Used for
patients with neuromas.
Scaphoid Pad
Increases arch support and
cushioning with an accommodative
material. Recommended for patients
with severe over-pronation, a rigid
cavus foot or pain in the mediallongitudinal arch.
U-Pad
Offloads certain metatarsal heads
and provides support and cushioning
for other metatarsal heads. Used
in patients with lesions, calluses or
Intractable Plantar Keratomas (IPK) or
with plantarflexed metatarsal heads.
Toe Crest Pad
Offloads the toes of patients with
hammer toes, claw toes or distal
corns and calluses.
Wide Medial Flange
Provides extra wide support for adult flat
feet. Recommended for patients with wide,
hypermobile pronated flat feet.
Accommodations
High Flange
Provides brace-like support for flat
feet and extreme supination. Use
in patients with flat feet, severe
pronation, accessory navicular or a
collapsed midtarsal joint.

Definition
Simple test inside:
A bunion is a bony bump on the joint at the base
of the big toe. As the bump gets bigger, it causes
the big toe to turn in toward the second toe.
This causes swelling and tenderness.

Simple Test:
Solution
Neuromas
Hammer Toes
Helping Where It Hurts.
Proper shoes and custom orthotics help control
over-pronation (when the foot rolls inward
excessively) and eliminates further growth at the
base of the big toe joint. Footmaxx orthotics may
help reduce pain in mild bunion areas by allowing
for extra room underneath the big toe. This will
help decrease irritation and reduce swelling.
Do you stand or walk on hard surfaces for
long periods of time?
